STAY TUNED !!! NEW BOOK ALERT! https://lnkd.in/e4nfGkJt "Echoes of the Old World" is a gripping narrative that explores the resilience of the human spirit in the aftermath of a cataclysmic event. Through the eyes of its characters, it delves into themes of survival, hope, and the quest for a new beginning in a world irrevocably changed by disaster. The story is marked by its deep character development, the exploration of human emotions in the face of adversity, and the portrayal of a stark, post-apocalyptic landscape that challenges its characters at every turn. The narrative's strength lies in its ability to weave together the struggles and triumphs of its characters into a cohesive and compelling journey towards hope and renewal.

Professional growth is essential, but refining emotional and cultural intelligence is crucial in today’s evolving corporate landscape. It’s what truly sets leaders apart. My first book, published in 2016, was a deeply cleansing and transparent experience. If I were to rewrite it today, I’d keep the same theme but approach it with a broader, more expansive perspective. Always a student of life. #lifelonglearner #publisher #book #changemanagement #marketer #CMO #culturalintelligence #emotionalintelligence #EQ

"We Simplify Accounting for Businesses By Connecting Every Byte, Everywhere." #MetaConnect #DataUnity #MetaFusion
In Jeff Noon’s novel Automated Alice (1996), Alice meets her twin twister, Celia. Celia is a twin “twister,” not a twin “sister,” because she is a sort of anagram of Alice. But the story Automated Alice was also a sort of twin twister to the stories Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass. To put it another way, if Lewis Carroll hadn’t ever written those earlier books, Jeff Noon might never have written Automated Alice at all. After all, it would have made a great deal less sense. Then again, that has seldom stopped writers like him before. Who knows how many books are sequels to books that were never written? And did Jeff Noon use the character of Alice, and her adventures, to help him write a book? Or did Alice use the real person Jeff Noon, to help her write further chapters to her life? It is hardly a fair comparison. The stakes are higher for Alice. On balance, Alice must have written herself. https://lnkd.in/eBY98Pa4

📚 James: A Novel❤️ ✅ Available on Amazon 👇 🖇️ Book Link: https://amzn.to/4dj2DX6 Writer: Percival Everett Product Description: --- **Exploring Identity and Perspective with *James: A Novel* by Percival Everett** I recently delved into *James: A Novel* by Percival Everett, and it’s a thought-provoking read that challenges conventional narratives and invites readers to explore identity, race, and perception through a unique lens. Everett's storytelling is both complex and compelling, as he weaves together multiple layers of narrative to paint a picture that’s as much about the character as it is about the broader societal constructs that shape him. The protagonist, James, serves as a mirror to our own preconceptions and biases, urging us to question the stories we tell ourselves about who we are and how we see others. What I found particularly striking is Everett's use of humor and satire to address serious topics. It's a reminder that literature can be a powerful tool for sparking conversations about difficult issues while engaging us on an emotional level. For anyone interested in literature that pushes boundaries and makes you think deeply about identity, *James* is a must-read. It’s a novel that stays with you long after the last page, prompting reflection on the ways we define ourselves and others in a complex world. Have you read *James: A Novel* or other works by Percival Everett? I’d love to hear your thoughts! #Literature #DiversityInLiterature #Identity #PercivalEverett #BookRecommendations #CriticalThinking

Research manager, researcher, novelist, writer, editor, and educator with wide experience in government, the university sector, and the arts.
Alexis Wright – a member of the Waanyi nation, Australia’s finest living writer, and probably our greatest writer alive or dead (because, yep, it’s a competition) – has just won the 2024 Stella Prize for her novel ‘Praiseworthy’. This week’s book of the week is Wright’s futuristic novel, ‘The Swan Book’ (2013). It’s a story of great power, richness, imaginative and rhythmic force. It’s politically charged, it’s hilarious, it’s dense but wildly entertaining, it’s genuinely original: ‘It seemed as though Oblivia had learnt nothing in years of living with the old woman except how to stay bent and rake thin, but not even she could prevent the force of nature. She could not go around in a perpetual state of warring with the obvious, by forever imagining herself to be like a piece of rotten fruit peel curled up inside the tree. Bones straightened out. She grew taller, and her skin darkened from the nondescript amber honey of a tree’s heartwood, to radiant antique gold – darkened, like a tarnished red-yellow ochre pit blazing in the sun after rain.’ ‘The Swan Book’ is in print with Giramondo Publishing. Long may it stay so. Note: in 2024, my creative project ‘Recommending the Future’ involves me immersing myself in, and writing back to, grey literature. Partly to remind myself of the world of books and partly to spruik the great ignored backlist, every Friday I am posting a book of the week.] #bookoftheweek #backlist #Auslit #StellaPrize #greyliterature #recommendingthefuture

📚 Recommendation #25: “There Are Rivers in the Sky” by Elif Shafak Hitting a quarter century of recommendations with this beautiful book which I read recently 😊 A breathtaking exploration of time, memory, and the interconnectedness of humanity. Seamlessly weaving across centuries, the novel’s storytelling flows like a river, carrying us through different epochs while maintaining an intriguing and deeply emotional narrative. At the heart of this journey is the main character, “a drop of water 💧”, moving through thousands of years, symbolizing the continuity of life and emotion. This metaphor is central to the novel’s theme, capturing how our lives ripple across time and connect with others. Shafak’s characters are richly drawn, inspired by real-life personalities, and carry a profound depth. Their personal stories, filled with love, loss, and resilience, leave a lasting impact. The beauty of this book lies in how Shafak masterfully navigates different timelines, effortlessly jumping across centuries while keeping the reader deeply engaged. It’s a novel where every sentence feels like a drop that contributes to a vast ocean of storytelling—intimate in its emotions, yet grand in scope. 🌟 My rating: 4.65/5 - A beautifully flowing story that captures the essence of time, memory, and human connection. This novel is a true gem for those who appreciate profound, multi-layered storytelling. #BookRecommendations #ElifShafak #Literature #TimeAndMemory #SeamlessStorytelling
