"I recently read a story here on LinkedIn that struck a chord. It was about a professional who, after turning 60, faced sudden unemployment. Despite a wealth of experience and a dedication to learning, he found himself struggling to secure a new role in his field. His story, unfortunately, is not unique—it’s a reality that many seasoned professionals are facing today. In a world where people are living and working longer, it’s troubling that ageism still bars so many experienced individuals from meaningful employment. Imagine building a career with decades of dedication, only to be overlooked simply because of a number. For those in this position, it’s more than just a job search—it’s a fight to maintain dignity, financial stability, and a sense of purpose. Organizations that dismiss older professionals miss out on the depth of knowledge, resilience, and loyalty that these individuals bring. It’s time to rethink our assumptions about age and experience. To hiring managers and recruiters: please consider the incredible value of professionals over 50. Their wisdom, adaptability, and commitment are assets that can enrich any workplace. Let’s bring humanity back into hiring decisions. Age shouldn’t be a barrier—it should be seen as a wellspring of skills, insight, and dedication." #Ageism #InclusionMatters #WorkplaceEquality #DiversityAndInclusion #Leadership #CareerGrowth #ExperiencedProfessionals #ValueExperience #HiringTrends #HRCommunity #JobSearchTips #WorkplaceCulture #AgeDiversity #RespectExperience #HumanResources #WorkplaceEquity #CareerOpportunities #SocialImpact #PositiveChange #LinkedInCommunity

Hey, connections, I recently spoke with a junior who shared some mixed feelings after landing a job at a major MNC. While she was thrilled with the opportunity, she admitted that leaving her parents behind was a real struggle. I reminded her that, unfortunately, our hometown doesn't have the same job opportunities, so relocating is often necessary. Her response got me thinking: "When will our city experience industrial growth so residents don't have to move away for jobs?" This is a common issue for many who struggle with homesickness. Traveling long distances for work can take a toll on mental health, as being away from family can be challenging. It's time for undeveloped cities to attract IT sectors and management companies, allowing individuals to thrive in their careers while staying close to home. Career growth is important, but so is mental health, and many people miss out on family time, especially during festivals, because they live far away. Let's work towards a future where career success doesn't come at the cost of being with loved ones. #CareerAndFamily #MentalHealthMatters #IndustrialGrowth #Homesickness #WorkLifeBalance #SupportLocalEconomies #CareerOpportunities #FamilyFirst #CommunityGrowth #WorkFromHome #RelocationChallenges

Since a young age, I have heard people say change happens when you’re uncomfortable. This has never made sense to me until recently. The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines comfort as a feeling of ease from grief or trouble; this sounds like what you should want from life. However, this definition does not mention you find comfort in not making positive changes. I have lived in Indiana most of my life and am content, but things have become like clockwork. I get up, go to work, go cycling, come home, and do it again the next day; there is nothing inherently wrong with that except I feel like I still have growing to do. In the interest of growth, I am embarking on a new journey, moving across the country to a place out of my comfort zone, Denver, Colorado. In tackling the hurdles of this journey, I hope to continue to expand as an individual. But to get started, I have to tackle the first hurdle of finding a job in Denver; after looking for a few months and not finding the right fit, I am doing something uncomfortable and putting myself out here to my network and your network to help me find a role. 🙋🏾♀️ So, if we have not met, my name is Nyjah Jones. I am a young professional with a B.S. in Women's & Gender studies. I have worked in various industries as a Business Development Representative, Social Media Coordinator, Office Manager, and Strategic Account Specialist. I am a lifelong learner. I am looking for a role where I can use the skills I have acquired over the years and grow with a company. If you know of or are hiring for any roles remotely or in the Denver area, please let me know. #startingover #newadventure #opentowork #youngprofessional #goodchange #denverjobs

The past nine months has been a pendulum of resignation and hope. Between climbing ancient granite-crowned peaks of New Hampshire, trying to keep up with my whirlwind wheaten terriers, and navigating life's nebulous uncertainties, I've had plenty of time to reflect on what I really want and what truly matters. 𝗜'𝗺 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝘆 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 - somewhere I can use my mix of creative thinking and roll-up-my-sleeves enthusiasm to make a real difference. My ideal spot? A place that values: - 𝘉𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺 - 𝘊𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘮-𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 - 𝘔𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 - 𝘏𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘶𝘯 𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘨𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝗦𝗼 𝗜'𝗺 𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲: If you know of any teams looking for someone who geeks out over both strategic planning AND making people smile, I'd love to chat! Similarly, if you want to re-connect and catch up don’t be shy! 𝘏𝘦𝘳𝘦'𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 - I adore bringing people together and solving tricky problems. My proudest moments? Checking in on a 24-hour global event from a hospital bed (not kidding!) and seeing my months of prep work pay off perfectly, finding ways to connect teammates across 15 countries, and keeping my cool when everything is falling apart (secretly, those are my favorite moments). Former colleagues say I’ve got a knack for making everyone feel included while getting stuff done. Whether deep-diving into YouTube trends, juggling social media strategies, or helping transition to virtual services, I’m always finding ways to bring people together and make complex things simple. I've resisted posting anything about this. 𝘞𝘩𝘺? Perhaps a tinge of foolish pride? Apart from that tell-tale green swath draped across my profile picture, you'd never really know. But sometimes the best opportunities come from the most predictable places, and who am I to doubt sage Occam and his razor? #OpenToWork #CommunityEngagement #ContentStrategy #SocialMedia #InternalComms #RemoteWork #CommunityManagement #CreativeStrategy #StrategicCommunications #WorkplaceWanted
