Why do we celebrate national or international days? In a world where we get to hear that celebration is not dependent on dates, we still have specific days and dates to witness celebration of an event. Reason for this: 1) 𝙸𝚗 𝚕𝚘𝚟𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚖𝚎𝚖𝚘𝚛𝚒𝚎𝚜 𝚘𝚏 𝚙𝚎𝚛𝚜𝚘𝚗: We mark birth or death anniversaries or any life event of a person depicting their values in life or their vision. 2) 𝚃𝚘 𝚌𝚛𝚎𝚊𝚝𝚎 𝚊𝚠𝚊𝚛𝚎𝚗𝚎𝚜𝚜: we have particular days for Some issues, event or traditions which needs to be addressed or need an action in current world. 3) 𝙷𝚒𝚜𝚝𝚘𝚛𝚒𝚌𝚊𝚕 𝙴𝚟𝚎𝚗𝚝: 𝙿articular days on which any milestone was achieved or which contributed in shaping history are declared as a specific day to show their importance. 4) S𝚢𝚖𝚋𝚘𝚕𝚜: Many days are symbol of something worthy to remember. 5) 𝚄𝚗𝚒𝚝𝚢: We are together but we need specific days to be together,to cultivate the power of unity and to remind that we are a family, a global family. #nationalday #internationalday

🕎 Should we wish people a Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays? 🎄 Many people pause at this time of year to know how to share well wishes with others without causing offence. Christmas as the name suggests is a Christian observance linked to the time believed to be the birth of Christ. We don’t know the actual birth date, so the 25th was chosen by committee in 300AD to overshadow other pagan festivals such as Winter Solstice. But there are many other religious and cultural observances at this time. We do not always know when we meet someone if Hannukah is going to be more meaningful, or Bodhi day, or Zarathosht Diso or Yule. Happy Holidays is seen as a more appropriate secular greeting, if we are sending out general wishes to an unknown audience. If however we do know the people and that their observance is Christian, or they enjoy the culture of Christmas without the religious attachment then wishing them a Merry Christmas is fine. From a Diversity & Inclusion perspective the advice is to be aware that not everyone observes Christmas and may in fact celebrate some other event that is much more meaningful to them. If you are unsure, then a simple ‘Happy Holiday’ greeting is more than enough. Want some more tips on multi-cultural awareness? Language Network wishes everyone a Happy Holidays! The winter holiday is celebrated in several countries around the world. Here are a few ways people celebrate the season in other countries. 1) Germany: Germany is responsible for the origin of Christmas trees, as devout Christians began the tradition in the Middle Ages. 2) Poland: Christmas Eve is the most important day over the festive period in Poland, as this is when the main festive meal is consumed. 3) Russia: Russia celebrates Christmas on January 7th, with only some Catholics choosing to mark the occasion on December 25th. 4) Japan: Christmas is not celebrated as a religious holiday in Japan, and is instead seen as a time to spread happiness. 5) Norway: Much like in many other European countries, gifts are opened on Christmas Eve in Norway.

On this Independence Day, let us come together to take a solemn pledge. Today, we vow to rid ourselves of the burdens that hold us back—animosity, ill will, negativity, procrastination, fear, and jealousy. These are the chains that keep us from living our lives to the fullest. Instead, let us embrace the virtues that elevate us—love, peace, goodwill, positivity, courage, bravery, and action. These are the values that will lead us to a life of purpose, a life filled with meaning. As we honor the freedom we have been blessed with, let us also strive to free our minds and hearts. Let us make every day a step toward becoming the best versions of ourselves. Together, with love in our hearts and determination in our souls, we can make this life not just a journey, but a celebration of the values that define us. Happy Independence Day! Let’s make our lives meaningful and purpose-driven. #love #peace #positivity #courage #action

Dear ladies and gentlemen, As today is Christmas eve and a time for joy and family, allow me also to express yet another reflection that is somewhat linked to the solidarity people should show in these festive times. Unfortunately we do not live in a festive world... the atrocities on mass scale are each year multiplying and this year I feel like we truly have little to celebrate if we observe the overall global wellbeing. In spirit of this I wish to remind you all a fundamental, yet forgotten truth: ALL IS POLITICAL! Modern ignorant worker consumers are constantly ignoring (consciously or unconsciously) the political undertone of their actions and what message that send out to the world. People say they don't care, or it's not that big a deal, or simply that it does not concern them. Today on Christmas eve, it has been a long standing tradition to go collect the light of Betlehem to bring home for the festivities. I cannot condone the acquisition of such flame this year and I myself, with a heavy heart, am foregoing this tradition for I cannot condone the horrors occurring in Israel and keep in my own house the same flames that are burning the Palestinian people. It hurts me beyond what many of you will imagine to see a once persecuted people commit such horrors... Do realise as ordinary citizens what messages we send to our politicians with our actions (or lack of..) It is even more flabbergasting that so many citizens know nothing or fundamentally little of political ideologies and then still call themselves capitalist or socialist or fascist or whatever else... sadly I've come to learn that many do not even know what left and right means... Anyway, I will not digress excessively and conclude simply by saying: I cannot stand the people who say politics does not concern or interest them... that is the ultimate sign of ignorance in a democracy, and such people deserve to live under authoritarianism. Maybe we are ripe for such an age
