How can real-world data (RWD) provide clinical researchers with a fundamental understanding of their trials? Data gathered from the highly controlled environment of a clinical study may not actually depict the “real world” that many patients and care providers will experience. The incorporation of RWD, data gathered from actual patient experiences, in many ways represents an important step toward a fundamentally better understanding of states of disease and health. Biomarkers, electronic health records (EHR), genomic data, imaging data, labs, social media, wearable sensors, and more provide enormous new sources of RWD that can aid in new discoveries for the quality, efficacy, and safety of new drug therapies. Read this MedCity News article to learn how data can improve quality, efficacy, and safety of new drug therapies. https://lnkd.in/eWADVuW4

HeartSciences, has recently been granted a pivotal patent by the European Patent Office for its AI-powered ECG technology! 👏🏻 This patent, covers the use of AI to interpret ECG data for diastolic function— an early indicator of heart disease. For those who don’t know..diastolic dysfunction, which signifies impaired cardiac relaxation, often precedes noticeable symptoms and can be indicative of bunch of different heart conditions. Normally, you’d have to have an echo in a cardiology setting…but this AI-ECG tech integrates the assessment into the ECG, making early detection more accessible, especially for those who may not be at a place where they’re seeing a cardiologist yet…but maybe should be. 🧐 #AI #ECG #CardiacHealth #Innovation #HealthTech #MedicalDevices
UPDATE: HeartSciences just secured a fundamental patent from the European Patent Office (EPO)! It covers using AI-ECG for assessing diastolic function of the heart - crucial for heart screening and early detection of heart disease. The US version has already been granted! #HeartSciences #Innovation $HSCS #NASDAQ #AI #ECG Read more: https://lnkd.in/gHr88qgb.
