👉 How are the toughest racing drones manufactured? ✅ Racing drones must regularly withstand brutal collisions at high speeds without failing - the race must continue. Conventional frames for racing drones usually consist of several individual components that are milled from carbon fibre composite panels and screwed together. The design of such frames always makes a compromise between strength, weight and aerodynamics. However, the optimal design for a racing drone frame consists of only a single part, is extremely light, has streamlined arms and is also highly collision-resistant. The solution is 3D printing with the unique continuous carbon fibre reinforced plastic in lightweight construction with Markforged 3D printers. Each continuous fibre exactly matches the direction of tension, and only at exactly those points where forces are really at work. The interior of the structure can be largely hollow – and at the same time conceal the necessary motor and supply lines, which are otherwise often damaged by the very fast rotating propellers in the event of a collision.
