My recent interview on Contemplation: "Deeper self-awareness enables us to discover, in a concrete sense, a connection with everything else... Human beings are not defined by their computational intelligence… there is something called spiritual intelligence, which can be developed through contemplation."

🌿 New Substack Post: The Solitude Renaissance I'm excited to share my latest Substack post, "The Solitude Renaissance: Embracing Intellectual Reflection." This piece explores the transformative power of solitude and its crucial role in fostering intellectual growth and freedom. In the words of Richard Rohr, "Silence is the language of God, all else is poor translation." Through this lens, I delve into how solitude and silence help us unlearn and unknow, stripping away societal conditioning to reveal deeper truths. Inspired by the profound insights of Aldous Huxley and Arthur Schopenhauer, this post also highlights the inaugural Thinking Being Carnival, a celebration of introspection and collective reflection. Join me on this philosophical journey as we navigate the balance between solitude and community, and challenge the status quo through meaningful dialogue and intellectual exploration. 🔗 Read the full post on Substack: Looking forward to your thoughts and reflections! #Philosophy #Solitude #IntellectualGrowth #ThinkingBeingCarnival #Wisdom #CollectiveReflection #Introspection #IntellectualJourney #Unlearning #Silence

There is verily no great genius without a mixture of a divine madness. The quote echoes the living sentiment that extraordinary intellectual, spiritual and creative achievements often stem from mind-brains and souls that deviate from the norm. This idea has been expressed in various forms throughout history. The concept can be traced back to ancient Greek times. Plato ( Πλάτων Plátōn; 428/427 or 424/423 – 348 BCE), in The Phaedrus (Φαῖδρος,Phaidros) discusses the idea of θεία μανία ( theia mania) aka divine madness, attributing it to a gift from the ‘gods’ that leads to prophetic insights and artistic inspiration, among other things. Similarly, Aristotle ( Ἀριστοτέλης Aristotélēs 384–322 BCE) noted that exceptional (two-legged ones aka) individuals often seemed to have a touch of divine madness. This living idea has persisted into modern times, with the romanticisation (the act of indulging in sentiment), glorification (the action of describing or representing something as admirable, sometimes unjustifiably) and idealisation (the action of regarding or representing something as perfect or sometimes even better than in reality) of artists, scientists of all sorts and thinkers who truly push the boundaries of conventional, orthodox and established thought and overall behaviour. The notion has been both acknowledged and celebrated and judged and critiqued, as it can sometimes perpetuate stereotypes about mental-emotional illness, spirituality and creativity that may not be accurate or helpful each and every time. Still, the quote captures the enduring living understanding and belief that creative genius often operates outside the bounds of conventional, orthodox and established thinking, and that the ability to see the world through a special and unique lens can be both a true blessing and a bloody heavy burden. ©DrAndrewMacLeanPagonMDPhD2024 ( द्रुविद् रिषि द्रुवेद सरस्वती Druid Rishi Druveda Saraswati) All rights reserved.

The #JUJU:- Let's explore a creative concept that marries the ideas of "#karma" and a "#cauldron." ### Karma Cauldron **Concept:** A "Karma Cauldron" could be envisioned as a metaphorical or literal vessel where #actions and #intentions are mixed and #brewed, ultimately #influencing one's fate and experiences based on the principles of karma. ### Metaphorical Usage: In storytelling or philosophical discussions, the "Karma Cauldron" could serve as a powerful metaphor to illustrate the process by which actions (good or bad) are transformed into future outcomes. **Storytelling Example:** 1. **Setting:** Imagine a magical world where every individual's actions are invisibly collected into a communal cauldron called the "Karma Cauldron." 2. **Mechanism:** This cauldron constantly brews and balances the collected deeds, converting each person's contributions into opportunities, challenges, and lessons that they will encounter in the future. 3. **Outcome:** The contents of the cauldron might spill over or evaporate into a fine mist that subtly influences the #world and its inhabitants, reflecting the #balance of positive and negative actions. ### Literal Usage: In a fantasy or spiritual context, a "Karma Cauldron" could be a literal object used in rituals or practices designed to cleanse, balance, and reflect upon one's karma. **Ritual Example:** 1. **Purpose:** The Karma Cauldron might be used in a sacred ceremony where individuals write down their actions, intentions, and aspirations on paper, then place them into the cauldron. 2. **Process:** The act of burning or boiling these papers in the cauldron could symbolize purification and transformation, aligning with the concept of karma as an ongoing process of moral and spiritual development. 3. **Reflection:** Participants could meditate or chant around the cauldron, contemplating the interconnectedness of their actions and their ongoing impact on their lives and the lives of others. ### Inspirational Thought: - **Balancing Act:** The Karma Cauldron reminds us that life is a dynamic blend of our actions and consequences. Just as a cauldron requires the right balance of ingredients to create a nourishing potion, so too does our life require the right mix of deeds and intentions to foster growth, harmony, and fulfillment. ### Visual Representation: - **Design:** The Karma Cauldron could be illustrated or depicted in art, showing swirling energies, symbols of balance (like the yin-yang symbol), and elements that represent different actions (e.g., helping hands, scales of justice, hearts for love). - **Symbolism:** It could be adorned with symbols representing various virtues (honesty, kindness, courage) and vices (greed, anger, deceit) to remind users of the ongoing interplay of their actions. This synthesis of karma and cauldron creates a rich, illustrative concept that can be used to deepen understanding of moral philosophy, inspire creative storytelling, or enhance spiritual practices.
