We're Dreaming of a White Company Christmas ☃️ Today’s festive favourite campaign is The White Company’s 2024 Advent Calendar. The stunning design takes inspiration from their flagship store on Symons Street, brought to life by Japanese illustrator Yoco Nagamiya. Known for her modern ink-and-watercolor style, Nagamiya’s work perfectly reflects The White Company’s elegant brand aesthetic. Creating the beautiful piece was no small feat, the brainstorming process began 16 months in advance. The internal team collaborated closely with the artist to refine the palette, tone, and intricate details until everything was just right. This year, Nagamiya’s illustration extends beyond the Advent Calendar, appearing on Christmas cards, gift tags, and even as window decals in stores. The result is a seamless blend of art, design, and festive storytelling ✨ Discover more of our festive favourites here: https://lnkd.in/eWrgzxzb #FestiveFavourites #TheWhiteCompany #HolidayDesign #Illustration #ChristmasMarketing

Hello Connections 🤗, 𝐃𝐚𝐲 16/30: 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐜 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞:𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 🎃 Spooky season is here! For today's design challenge, I created a 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐲 promotional poster for a thrilling event at 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛 on 31𝐬𝐭 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫. The goal was to capture the eerie, festive spirit of Halloween while ensuring the design grabs attention and creates excitement for the event! 👻 🎨 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭: The design is dominated by classic Halloween colors, with an 𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐩 and black 𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐬 of a haunted village, adding an instant sense of mystery and thrill. The use of spooky elements like 𝐠𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐬, 𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐬, 𝐩𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐬,and 𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐞𝐛𝐬 gives the design a playful yet eerie feel, perfect for a fun Halloween party. The bold, dripping font amplifies the spooky atmosphere, while the friendly ghost and witch add a touch of fun. 💡𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬 & 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: This project reinforced the importance of 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 when working with a theme that’s both 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐲. The trick was to create something that wasn’t too scary, but still embodied the excitement of Halloween. The contrasting colors (black and orange) helped make the key information stand out, while the scattered elements added movement and energy to the design. I also learned that 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝, 𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐬𝐲𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐥𝐬 can effectively communicate the holiday spirit without overcrowding the design. This challenge reminded me how vital 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 is in event marketing to ensure everything from the typography to the visuals works together in creating a cohesive feel. #Day16 #30DayDesignChallenge #GraphicDesign #GraphicDesignChallenge #Halloween2024 #SpookyVibes #HalloweenParty #DesignJourney #DailyDesign

"It was better before..." 📺 Nostalgia can boost brand love and sales? 👇 A study by the University of California, Irvine https://lnkd.in/eWQp47iz found that using nostalgic design elements triggers positive emotions and increases purchase intent, especially for established brands. Subtly weave nostalgic touches into your brand design! Think vintage fonts, color palettes that evoke a bygone era, or even references to pop culture from your target audience's youth. ❤️ For example: A bakery could use classic fonts reminiscent of old-fashioned signage and feature photos of families enjoying treats, sparking warm memories of childhood visits to the bakery. What nostalgic elements could you incorporate into your brand to spark connection with your audience? Share your ideas in the comments! #nostalgia #branding #psychologyofmarketing #branddesign #entrepener #smallbusiness #marketingstrategy

Design Trends we're loving: Nostalgia The nostalgic design ‘trend’ is no longer a trend, it's here to stay. Nostalgia has continued to prove powerful in design by evoking emotions that create a sense of familiarity and comfort. New and old brands alike are using the best elements of these design memories to create something that feels both retro and contemporary at once. Over the past couple of years, we have seen the reemergence of various visual styles that pull from a growing pool of nostalgic styles, e.g. retro-futurism, '80s, '90s, and '00s revival, minimalism meets vintage, and modern heritage. Design elements like bubbly typography, fun character illustrations, y2k aesthetics, and well-crafted maximalism are just some of the bold ways that we have seen nostalgia play on both packaging, and digitally. And we love them all! Some of our designers favorite brands that play into nostalgia are Diana's, Drumroll Snacks, Sizzler USA, Hot Pockets and BEZI #Design #PackagingDesign #CPG
