At softenglish, we believe in the power of every individual’s journey. Today, we are honored to share a deeply moving testimonial from one of our exceptional students, S.Adams: “I was 69 when I heard about Ms. Daneilla and her method. I decided to give it a last chance and approached her. I am not a native speaker of English and I have severe dyslexia due to an injury and probably a brain damage. I am a very active person, a business man and a social activist. But reading English was a big challenge. I didn’t know the sounds of the letters. I found it very hard to recognize the letters and to pronounce their sounds in isolation let alone to blend them into words. I confuse the letters, I add sounds, I ignore letters… when I already know a word I can “read” it although it is not there… Oh, I am so dyslexic … even today after almost two years my reading is not fluent. But I am so happy with the method and with the results. This is the only method that succeeded in teaching me to read. All the extra techniques help me identify the patterns of reading and pronounce them. Thanks to the reading I now know some English. I can make sentences and express myself. I can read and understand although still slowly. Knowing English has been a dream for me and is now coming true. I can’t recommend the SoftRead method enough.” hashtag #Dyslexia #Dyslexiaawareness

PractiCe vs PractiSe… AdviCe vs AdviSe… what’s the difference? Remember: S for Action, C for Noun! #English may not be our native language, but learning its rules and correctly using it while communicating can create a lasting good impression. Several studies prove that lingustic abilities portray intellectual abilities. The Journal of Educational Psychology indicates that individuals with advanced language skills tend to score higher on intelligence measures related to verbal reasoning. Learning the differences is important for people whose work responsibilities include effective #communication and #presentation. Do you have trouble remembering such differences in #writing? Focusing on real conversations with a native speaker rather than AI or book learning, my process pushes you into fluency, building language and confidence to deal with any situation in an organic way.
Fluency in Professional Communication The way many of us have been taught to learn a language at school is flawed. One of the mistakes we make is learning a bank of vocabulary in isolation. Solution: get the vocabulary into a context as quickly as possible. Reduce the mental load trying to find a verb that goes with that noun, or an adjective that associated with that noun. By learning them in combination and creating a matrix of associated words you capture that data. This helps with fluency and recall becomes much faster. Ways to do this: 1. Put it in a phrase or sentence immediately - ⚓anchor it before it floats away.🎈 2. Create an image or story that connects your new vocabulary together - the stranger the imagery the better. 3. Try to use it immediately. A good student - teacher duo will identify that new word and spend a few minutes using it in different contexts and in combination with other key words and ideas to help that matrix of context to integrate the new with what you already know. If you are interested in learning more about improving your fluency I'm going to focus on that topic this week. Helping Thai doctors 🇹🇭👩🏻⚕️👨🏻⚕️ communicate with international patients 🌍 with better English fluency 🗣️ | 1-to-1 & Group Coaching Programs 💬 | Professional English Mastermind Group 🧠 | Medical English Focus
When I started teaching online, I noticed how most lessons were either too rigid with teachers following a script and sticking to a set curriculum... 📝🥱 ...or totally unstructured with open-ended conversations where students were expected to take the lead. 😱💬 Don't get me wrong, the first approach ensured students learned the basics, but it felt robotic 🤖 and there wasn't much opportunity to really connect with the teacher or use the language in a natural way. On the other hand, the freestyle conversations, while encouraging students to take initiative, could be overwhelming for those who lacked confidence or direction. 😬 Neither approach felt ideal.. Neither felt right to me – it's too hard to learn that way! 🚫 That's why I do things differently. 🌟 I give you a solid base to build on, then the freedom to practice English the way it's actually used in your professional life. 🤷♂️ I've seen this approach make a big difference for non-native professionals: ✅ Gain confidence to speak up in meetings and presentations 🗣️ ✅ Write clear and effective emails and reports ✍️ ✅ Network smoothly with English-speaking colleagues 🤝 If you're ready to transcend the textbook approach and boost your English for work, let's connect! 📩 #Englishforprofessionals #businessenglish #ESL #languagecoach #learnenglishonline

🌱Helping companies and professionals build confidence using English 🌱 Combining the power of collaboration and Edutech 🌱
How can I improve my professional tone in English? In the blog below, my colleague Sonia explains how to use the passive voice. This is a structure we use a lot in English work settings both in speaking and writing. Examples in a work context: - The report 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐝 ahead of schedule. - The meeting 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐝 to next Monday. - All documents 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭 to the client yesterday. Combining business and general English is crucial to build confidence 🌱 ----------------------------- Connect 🌱 Josie Salmon 👩💻 Helping busy professionals build their confidence using English. 👩🏫 Collaborating with language teachers to enforce better working conditions and pay. Supporting you in building a successful tutoring business that meets the needs of those you work with
There seems to be an unwritten belief that if we're not bored when we are revising, we're not doing it properly... Bizarre! If we are enjoying ourselves we are far more likely to actually remember what it is we are learning. I had one of my 2am brain storms the other evening on how you could perhaps (more creatively) learn the key quotes for the characters in the key English Texts. I'll put the link for the blog in the comments if you are interested #HowtoreviseGCSEEnglish #EnglishLiterature #creativerevision #Revisionmademoreinteresting #homeeducation #parenting
