Excited to see smalt on the list of EU-Startups 25 most promising renewable energy startups! We’re firmly focused on realising this promise by developing green collar workers to install clean energy like Solar/PV and heat pumps in homes. We didn’t initially set out to build a renewable energy startup. Workforce development to solve the blue collar worker shortage in EU was the initial problem Marius Westhoff and I set out to solve with smalt. Within weeks, it became clear that developing workers for renewable energy trades was our biggest opportunity for impact - the largest need and value of skilled workers is in installing clean energy assets, like Solar/PV. We are now firmly committed to focus on developing EU’s workforce for the renewable energy transition!
🇪🇺 ☀ We're super excited to be listed as one of the EU's 25 most promising start-ups in the Renewable Energy vertical! Already, we're delivering tech-enabled PV installations with several teams across Berlin, Brandenburg and the surrounding states in Germany. With each installation and new team member, we are getting closer to our goal of educating 300.000 new workers in the European climate trades. It's surprising how many companies miss the opportunity to de-risk projects early in the process, thereby saving many thousands of dollars. I'm excited to see companies beginning to emphasize the importance of real estate and title in development. Prioritizing these areas early on is essential for de-risking a project, and a thorough title examination is one of the first crucial steps.
