OpenGround Demo Day innovator – DataFarming Introducing DataFarming (Australia), one of the innovative companies exhibiting at our OpenGround Demo Day that will showcase plant health solutions with the potential to transform crop and pasture management. DataFarming is a Toowoomba-based agtech co-created by leading Australian precision agricultural specialists, Tim Neale and Peta Neale. Their platform allows farmers and agronomists to understand and manage their paddock variability using satellite imagery, which is available every five days for any farm. The platform is a leading global digital agriculture platform, covering 36,000 farms across 50 countries. Of those farms, 70 per cent are used by livestock producers. Tim says satellite image offers a great opportunity to determine the available green feed in a paddock as it correlates well to total green biomass. With around one-third of U.S. land used for grazing cattle, co-locating photovoltaics and grazing operations could help preserve agricultural land, generate additional income for landowners, farmers, and ranchers, and ease barriers to solar energy deployment.
