This post nicely illustrates the challenge and opportunity to go to net zero by 2050. 110Trillion or 3500Billion/y investments. A loooong way to go.

Let’s not underestimate the needed investment in grid infrastructure and storage. It would cost as much as the power production.

The conflict of doing it vs not doing it. The price tag is huge to do it. The price tag is huge not to do it. Buying a Tesla is not going to fix it. Putting solar panels in your house will not do it. A few countries worldwide doing it will not achieve it. This would require international support and cooperation. Unfortunately, that's not realistic when we have wars, proxy wars, job losses, politics, inflation (and maybe recession) and other issues that take the mainstream media front stage. Change will not happen until change is a priority.

Major investors have the opportunity to drive the energy transition forward as well as support existing industries.
