Sustainability At Soladrilho we are committed to sustainability. Taking advantage of what our climate can offer, it makes 4 year now since an extensive array of panels was installed on the factory's roof allowing us to use renewable energy, and consequently reducing the carbon footprint. These solar panels generate a substantial amount of clean energy, supporting not only the factory's daily operations but also contributing to a greener future. Embracing solar energy is a crucial step in minimizing environmental impact, and our missing shows that industrial innovation can go hand-by-hand with ecological responsibility.

Last week, Nidec participated to the 2024 UMSL SUSTAINABILITY SUMMIT in the “Energy Transition in Pursuit of Net Zero” panel in St. Louis, Missouri. On this occasion, Dominique Llonch, our CEO, was able to highlight Nidec's mission, in support also of the efforts already underway by European institutions to find increasingly sustainable solutions to respond to the current energy crisis ⚡. Nidec has always positioned itself as an ally in the energy transition, and the Nidec Conversion division is strategic in this regard. We are very proud to have contributed to the dialogue on this occasion, because we strongly believe that knowledge sharing, research collaboration, and training programs are part of a larger strategy that is the path to decarbonization 🌍. “To the students of the University of Missouri in Saint Louis (UMSL): We need your involvement in the sustainability path to Net Zero and particularly there is a huge need of engineers in all types of specialties. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and very motivating career as we are supporting the future of our planet.” Dominique Llonch, President & CEO of Nidec Conversion. Sustainability is a long-term play, and the new generations, of which the students who have dedicated their time to us are a part, will be the experts of tomorrow's future. Nidec intends to support and inspire them from the very first steps 😀. Read more about our solutions📱: https://hubs.la/Q02WsKSk0

Kährs Group Sustainability Report for 2023 published In 2023, we made promising progress in many sustainability areas, including our use of renewable energy, reducing the carbon footprint of our own operations, exploring solutions for circularity, and in our supplier risk assessments and engagement. We also measured and analyzed more data and metrics than ever before to better capture our sustainability impact. At the same time, our results from 2023 have helped us to identify where we have the biggest obstacles to overcome; our choice of raw materials, transportation routes and emissions, the impact of the products we source externally, and where our products end up after use. Our operational climate footprint decreased by 77%, compared to our 2020 baseline, and we continue to strive toward decreasing our footprint each year, through an ambitious and aligned low-carbon transition plan, until we reach our net-zero target by 2030, During 2023 we have also focused heavily on new reporting standards, identified gaps for prioritisation, and, most importantly, worked collaboratively throughout the company – because Sustainability is everybody's business.
