All Souls Anglican Church (2018 | New Zealand) All Souls Church in Christchurch’s Merivale suburb replaces the original stone structure built on the site of the historic St. Mary's Merivale in 1926, which was irreparably damaged in the 2011 Christchurch earthquake. This new building, inaugurated in 2018, stands as a symbol of the city's resilience and the enduring spirit of its community, which came together to form a unified parish and secure funding for its construction. The church's facade, clad in smooth white panels, embodies both a respect for the past and an embrace of the future. It offers a space that meets the community's spiritual needs in a modern and resilient way, while also conveying a sense of peace and tranquility. Could the urban spaces incorporate more herbs and trees with medicinal properties into the architecture. Could landscape and green architecture be not just for aesthetic but for purpose? Such that in a residential, commercial or urban environment, there are trees designed for a specific use. A step further, what if there exists gardens and parks solely dedicated for healing purposes? Man is a product of nature and nature has the solutions to man.

Heritage Potential successfully secured Full Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent for the replacement of 10 single-glazed front windows with slimline double-glazed replicas at Grade II* listed Grosvenor Crescent. 1-10 Grosvenor Crescent is a Grade II* row of terraced houses, constructed in the mid-19th century by London property developer Seth Smith. The crescent retains a uniform classical appearance with exquisite fine detailing and architectural and historic merit of more than special interest. Through detailed analysis, it was demonstrated that the existing windows were non-original copies, in poor condition, and were of no special interest. Therefore, it was argued that replacing them with more sustainable, like-for-like designs, would have a neutral impact on the significance of the listed building and the conservation area. Winner of the 2024 AR House awards, Manuel Cervantes Estudio’s post-hurricane houses in Acapulco, Mexico, address inequalities for residents hit by two recent super storms: https://lnkd.in/eP4XGa77 Built using a system of prefabricated panels of wire mesh, polystyrene and concrete coating, the houses cost an average of US$18,000 to build, creating new permanent residences for those whose homes have been destroyed by hurricanes Otis and John. Each of the 42 houses completed so far is unique, influenced by a heritage of self-built architecture in Acapulco, and residents have already begun to adapt them. Southwark Council has given the go ahead for the redevelopment of a former gasworks site on Salter Road, Rotherhithe. We have designed 151 new homes which includes a significant amount of public realm including a new central garden and play area designed by HTA Design LLP. The scheme provides a mix of terraced houses and robust apartment blocks, that respond to the low-rise suburban character of the area while delivering much needed new homes for Southwark. "The buildings and the public spaces work together to form a coherent new neighbourhood with a strong sense of identity. The architecture of both the townhouses and the apartment blocks take their cues from the former terraces of dock worker’s cottages and larger Victorian warehouses that used to populate the area, while remaining true to the time in which they are being built.'"
