This is what happens when you convert two 50-year-old satellite antennas into a solar installation! 😍 With a peak output of 117 kW, the Leuk site boasts: 307 x Solar Panels 156 x P850 Optimizers 1 x SE100k Inverter These antennas are able to track the sun for peak production throughout the day, so production is already higher than a fixed roof system. Another benefit is that the antennas are able to protect the installation by angling them away from bad weather conditions One major challenge was that there are no comparable projects like this in Europe, so with real-world challenges like shading and weather conditions, having a safe and reliable system was paramount. Another interesting challenge was that each module row experienced different conditions due to module inclination and orientation. For these reasons and many more, our products were an obvious choice Check out the full list of products used in the installation here: https://okt.to/LpoEjV

If you already have an concentrator, why not put on mirrors and PV in the focus point?

Certainly a great case to pitch towards the dish undergoing renovations for public display in Carnarvon, Western Australia.

An incredible project, which must be magnificent to showcase through video!

I can personally validate, the antenna tracking receiver(s) on this type of antenna, perfectly capable of tracking the sun. I know this first hand, as I have worked at the US Navy Command Satcom Master Station, in Hawaii.....

what sort of yield are you getting from it? Difficult to predict for the reasons you state but looks like the ultimate tracker system

This is such a cool idea! 😍 Transforming old satellite antennas into a solar installation is a true engineering marvel. As the owner of a company specializing in solar stations, I understand how challenging it must have been to execute this project. It required not only technical expertise but also a creative approach to repurposing existing structures for green energy production. It's another step towards a sustainable future that deserves all my excitement! 🌞🌱
