Little Place Labs (LPL) attended the 38th Annual Small Satellite Conference (SmallSat) in Utah last week. Our team had the privilege of engaging with industry leaders and sharing our strategic vision and advanced capabilities. Key moments from the conference: -> LPL presented our Orbitfy suite of applications, showcasing our edge computing solutions on space Data Processing Units (DPUs). -> We collaborated with partners Unibap and Liscotech, who demonstrated Orbitfy integration with their DPU solutions. -> Met old friends and built new connections generating new leads. -> New opportunities in the making with like-minded partners. More to come. Validation: The discussions and developments at the conference validated the critical role of edge computing in driving real-time intelligence and automated space operations. At Little Place Labs, we remain dedicated to making satellites and space missions smarter and more intelligent. We extend our gratitude to Utah State University for hosting this event in Logan for the last time, as the conference transitions to Salt Lake City next year. See you next year in Salt Lake City. #smallsat #littleplacelabs #automation #spacetech #satellites #edgecomputing

Because most of the spacetech deals we analyzed were not mature enough to fit our investment thesis (launchers, propulsion, in-orbit services, or satcom) 🚀 Because even for those who were, they didn't contain enough differentiating and proprietary technology (satellite manufacturing, remote sensing data services) 🚀 Because the rare candidates with significant revenue and distinctive IP, approached us with an unrealistic and overinflated valuation. 🚀 But we probably will, because #JoltNinja shows that the density of joltable European space scaleups has significantly increased in the past couple of years. We are down-to-earth investors, totally immune to hype, and happy to bide our time. 🚀 (Maxime Mallet joined a panel at the European Space Agency - ESA on Sept. 18th) #space #spacetech #deeptech #satellite #orbit #remotesensing #satcom #privateequity #growthcapital Stefania Ascione Rob Desborough Ossi Tiainen Kais Barmawi

Big step! 🥳 Check out our recent publication about on-ground validation if you want to learn more about the tracking mode and how we prepare such tests: https://lnkd.in/etyFywQQ
🚀 Mission Update: Successful Fine Pointing Tests with QUBE 🛰️ ✨ Last week, QUBE’s LEOP reached a significant milestone with fine pointing tests successfully tracking our Ground Station in Würzburg. A few minutes before the overpass, QUBE's ADCS transitioned into fine pointing mode, configuring all necessary sensors, filters, controllers, and actuators. When first contact was established, QUBE was already pointing toward our ground station! 🎉 QUBE maintained its tracking for the entire duration of the overpass without any disturbances. Thus, a critical step in verifying the fine pointing mode was successfully passed. 💻 The collected data are now carefully compared with Hardware-in-the-Loop tests conducted before satellite delivery to calibrate and optimize attitude performance. We're excited to keep pushing forward and continue with LEOP to collect more in-orbit data in upcoming experiments to further optimize the satellite’s performance. #SpaceTechnology #SatelliteTracking #MissionSuccess #QUBE #ADCS #Innovation 🤝 Qube Mission Collaboration This project is the result of a close partnership between Zentrum für Telematik e.V. and several key collaborators, including Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V., DLR Institut für Kommunikation und Navigation, Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light, FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. Together, we accumulated the necessary interdisciplinary expertise in an excellent way to advance the frontiers of quantum communication and satellite technology. We also want to extend a special thanks to Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung for their outstanding support in making this mission possible.
