Well, as of last month, the building that houses our headquarters, Oceans Haarlem, is connected to a geothermal heating system. For those interested in the nitty gritty details behind our new green system, it all comes back to the 'ground-coupled heat pump'. This heat pump makes sure to profit from our own heating and cooling systems. In the ground, it stores warm water during the summer, and cold water in the winter. Supplying us with the necessary heating and cooling during the year. ⤵️🌡️ So no more emissions in Scope 1 and 2 for us! Soil health is important to our future. A question has been posed can ground-mounted #solar farms play a part in improving soil health? We’re #StantecProud to partner with Argonne National Laboratory to answer that question. The team is studying soil health and tracking how land management changes can improve soil conditions and ecosystems services on solar farms. We just wrapped up the methods phase of this three-year project that will help solar operators make more informed decisions.
