The Concept Paper sumbission window for the 48C tax credit for Qualifying Advanced Energy Projects is open until June 21st at 5:00 PM Eastern. We've recently learned how competitive this tax credit truly is. Last year, in Round 1, over $13.5 billion was requested by applicants, which is significantly greater than the $4 billion in available funds. This time around, applicants who did not receive an award in Round 1 are encouraged to re-apply for Round 2. The IRS has released some very helpful guidance, FAQs, and even a document detailing common pitfalls and themes from Round 1 applications to help applicants prepare well-supported and persuasive Round 2 submissions. Understandably, this round is going to be highly competitive. If you're looking to apply for this credit, I would suggest doing so with the assistance of a tax professional who can assist with the application process.
This month, the U.S. Department of Treasury, Internal Revenue Service, and Department of Energy opened the 2024 Low-Income Communities Bonus Credit Program application portal and the 48C Portal for a new round of the Qualified Advanced Energy Project Credit Program. The Low-Income Communities Bonus Credit Program enhances the energy investment credit by 10% or 20% for qualifying solar and wind projects. The Qualified Advanced Energy Project Credit Program will distribute up to $6 Billion in tax credits for clean energy projects. The application period for these programs closes towards the end of June. Read this week’s tax news to learn more. #cleanenergy #taxcredits #cleanenergytaxcredits

With now the IRS now extending its free file program up to now 2029, this will be a game changer especially now making it up to taxpayers who make $79,000 or less. Besides the other partnerships that work with the IRS, I wonder if more companies will jump ship or add incentives to denture taxpayers elsewhere?
