Earlier this year, we advised Nature Infrastructure Capital on the raise of the single-asset fund for their 50/50 joint venture with X-ELIO, a portfolio company of Brookfield, for their investment in ECO STOR GmbH, a leading German developer and operator of utility-scale battery projects. In conjunction with the new joint venture, Harris Williams advised NIC on their raise of the single-asset fund that will support ECO STOR’s near-term funding needs. X-ELIO is one of Europe’s largest renewables developers, and the JV aims to finance the construction of an advanced development pipeline of battery storage projects across Germany. The company’s investment thesis is underpinned by a growing requirement for flexible capacity on the German grid. There are strong tailwinds supporting an ambitious build-out of renewable electricity generation capacity with a view of reducing gas dependency, increasing the need for batteries to provide flexibility to the grid. Additionally, investors were attracted to the opportunity to back a market leader and early mover in the build out of battery solutions in Germany. We look forward to seeing what ECO STOR accomplishes in their next chapter under the ownership of NIC and X-ELIO. https://lnkd.in/eDu6BJ43 #privatecapitaladvisory

Mutta ehkä tämä investointi vauhdittaa akkutuotannon käynnistämistä: "FREYR Battery today [Dec 24, 2024] announced the closing of the Company’s acquisition of the U.S. solar manufacturing assets of Trina Solar Co Ltd. in accordance with the previously communicated timeline. ...The Transaction creates a commercial and operating platform to establish a leading integrated U.S.-owned and operated solar and battery storage company with a pathway for value enhancing growth. ...The transaction leverages Trina Solar’s global leadership in the solar and the renewable energy industries, established U.S. commercial presence, global supply chains, advantaged technology, and a strong track record of manufacturing and project execution for U.S. customers." #akkuteollisuus #FREYRbattery #TrinaSolar https://lnkd.in/dbzyinxi

Nordic Solar sells solar park in France, thus completing its third strategic divestment in 2024 ☀️ Nordic Solar A/S has successfully signed a share purchase agreement for Montmayon, a 2.8 MW solar plant in France. The transaction marks Nordic Solar’s first divestment in France and aligns with the company's strategy to refocus its operating portfolio on core markets while recycling capital to continue investing in large-scale solar parks. “The first divestment of a solar park in France, as well as completing the second sale within a few weeks, is a significant achievement for us. It demonstrates our ability to execute our divestments and shows that our organization is well-equipped to deliver on the strategy laid out. These divestments are also a good example of our commitment to generating long-term returns for our investors. We have operated the plant for 8 years, with strong performance figures and concluded the process with a divestment to enhance growth and capital recycling,” says Chief Investment Officer Holger Bang. Nordic Solar remains committed to optimizing its portfolio and is actively evaluating opportunities to divest additional assets in the near future. With a total of three divestments executed in 2024, this will represent the highest number of divestments completed in a single year in the company's history.
