Solar panels are generally maintenance-free, but because solar panels are meant to last over 25 years, some maintenance issues are bound to arise. According to installers, the most common maintenance needs are: - Inverter/ hardware failure and replacement - Battery software setup issues - Roof leaks - Wiring issues Oftentimes, homeowners will be covered by a warranty, but by thinking one step ahead and adding a Solar Insure insurance plan, you’ll be covered even if your solar company goes out of business over those 25+ years. Energy and Carbon Consultant | Net Zero Eco | 5 more years of global carbon budget to get to absolute Zero
What is the payback on residential solar PV (perhaps also with batteries)? So, for New Zealand…payback for residential solar with battery storage can be as low as 5 years (6 years with financing). There are other investment ratios you could use such as IRR or ROI, but payback is easy to understand and is not subject to more uncertain estimates of cashflow in the far future. Note: costs have dropped considerably and battery costs are expected to drop massively. My own payback was 10 years (now 5 years to go)…system has a slightly different configuration from one optimised for financial return due to additional equipment redundancy because of the need for backup power to pump water. Great explanation of payback for Solar with a tool you can download:

Considering a home with solar panels? Here are 6 crucial questions to ask before making your move: 1.) Who owns the panels? Ensure clarity on ownership, whether owned outright or under a lease arrangement. 2.) Who handled the installation? Confirm that a licensed professional installed the panels to safeguard warranty coverage. 3.) What's the roof's condition? A vital factor, as repairs or replacements may require panel removal and reinstallation. 4.) What are the maintenance needs? Understand cleaning and servicing requirements, especially if you're responsible for upkeep. 5.) How does output match usage? Assess if the panels meet your energy needs and explore options for surplus energy, like net metering. 6.) What's the production guarantee? Know your recourse if the system falls short of its promised output. My advice: Be sure to do your homework as a buyer to know all the pros and cons of buying a home with solar panels on the roof. Ensure to get a copy of the solar documents including the solar lease as most systems are leased and not owned outright.

The math behind a million dollar a month solar business: Assuming a $3 price per watt and an average installation size of 8kw… That means we’re giving each installation job an average value of $24,000 $1 million a month = 42 installation jobs a month 42 installation jobs = 160 qualified appointments a month (pessimistic conversion rate) 160 qualified appointments a month = 450 qualified leads a month 450 qualified leads a month = 15 leads a day People overcomplicate growing a solar business and put reaching milestones like $100k/month, $1m/mo and $10m/mo on a pedestal. It doesn’t have to be this way. Your goals are much closer than you may believe. You’re only 15 good fit leads a day away from a $1m/mo solar business.

How’s a Mod Mover work? Pretty simple. Center the tool with the panel backsheet, slide it up & over the panel frame, then lift away. That’s it. Tools don’t have to be complicated to be useful. https://lnkd.in/gPa6cCc8 Solar Tools USA: Tools for Solar Installers. Faster. Safer. Easier.
