What you see above you is DIRECTV's PI-29Z power inserter. It's used to power DIRECTV dishes. The idea is that you put it inline between your dish and your receivers and it sends the necessary power up to the line to the dish. DIRECTV's dishes need a minimum 21 volts of power minimum to run, and most DIRECTV boxes can't provide it. (The HR54 and Genie 2 are an exception.) #antennas #satellite

If you have a Genie 2, you know that it generally has two green lights on the front. The top shows the general status of the system. The bottom shows the status of the wireless adapter. For the most part they stay green all the time. What happens if one of them changes color? What should you do? First thing: check out our error code list. #directv #satellite

What you see above is a top view of DIRECTV's AIM meter. It's a great tool for working with DIRECTV dishes, and in fact it's the only tool I recommend. Why? Because it's the only meter that reads every kind of DIRECTV signal. It also has a guided mode which can help even the greenest novice get the dish perfectly aimed. #directv #satellite

If you're a commercial DIRECTV customer, you probably know all about DIRECTV's commercial options. However, if you're a home user and want to upgrade your system beyond the basics, you might not be aware of what's out there. If you go beyond just a plain-jane Genie install, you'll probably need a multiswitch. If you want to be completely futureproof, you'll want the right dish. #4ktv #directv #satellite
