Tilt the Scale in the City’s Favor …………  and Even Things Out As we prospect cities in the South to determine where our firm can best serve, we discover repeatedly that many communities are served by solid waste contracts that are outdated and are sometimes slanted to favor one party over the other- not a Win-Win for both parties. As City leadership knows, a  clean community attracts new business owners and home buyers as readily as tax abatements. But, lingering brush piles, dumpsters that overflow their contents onto the surrounding parking areas, and other waste eyesores detract from the image the City seeks. Too much time between brush and bulky pickup, lack of control over the container collection in the business district, and other issues can be corrected with a well-written contract. The new contract should express the desire of City leadership yet allow for reasonable pricing for the vendor to recover costs and ensure a reasonable profit. This has been the foundation of our work at Solid Waste Specialists.
