Your hero isn't everything... but it's also pretty damn important. It's your front door, your welcome mat, your curb appeal.... You get the idea. On the never-ending quest for a perfect hero, here are 4 Changes I made to Dataro's Hero Text: 1. Narrowing on our primary product 2. Moving from Abstract to Concrete 3. More Product Explanation 4. More Tangible Benefits A word on each... 1. Narrowing on our primary product: I shifted "predictions" to the primary position in the all caps category text, and made it the focus of the H2 text. Do we still do fundraising analytics? Of course. But I wanted to lead with our strongest, most differentiated offering (fundraising predictions) 2. Move from Abstract to Concrete: I actually liked our H1 before, but I wanted to get even more concrete. We use donor data to generate donor predictions. At our stage, clarity is more important that cleverness. 3. More Product Explanation: I find that "using machine learning to identify ready-to-give donors" is a clearer explanation than "AI-driven donor predictions." It peels back the curtain on how the product works (machine learning) and gives an easier to understand deliverable (identifying ready-to-give donors) and finally... 4. More Tangible Benefits: rather than saying we broadly "grow your fundraising revenue", I wanted to get more tactical. While it could get even more tangible, I felt that highlighting 1. giving campaigns, 2. less wasted resources, and 3. more donations was a move in the right direction. (Bonus: I moved us to one primary CTA, directing away from free sign0up. Someone call the PLG authorities.) Can this hero get better? Of course it can. But I still think that these four shifts were a win. Let me know your thoughts (or just roast me) in the comments!
