Just completed training on our cutting-edge dynamic sorption analyzer, the mixSorb S. While our lab is already equipped with TGA and DVS, this instrument opens up new possibilities by allowing complex dynamic sorption processes in a wide field of different gas- and gas/vapor-mixtures by using different parameters like: pressure, temperature gas velocity/dwell times, cycle tests and much more. These experiments allows to get data including sorption selectivities, gas mixture adsorption and heat balance of the sorption process. This is a really interesting application story with our new Brooks Instrument QMC Coriolis flowmeter. 🏭 In a chemical (or petrochemical) pilot plant, one Quantim QMC Coriolis mass flow controller accurately measures and controls the flow rate of a critical gas feed to a reactor. A second Quantim QMC measures and controls the flow rate of a liquid feed to the same reactor. After the reaction takes place, a third Quantim QMC mass flow meter downstream of the reactor accurately measures the mass flow rate of the fluid which has a mixed, likely unknown and potentially varying composition. A mass balance calculation is performed using all of the measurements in and out of the reactor. This provides data about the reaction, material properties, and/or process yields, which can be used to determine if the process is ready to be scaled-up to full production. Although many devices are working together within this pilot plant process, the NEW 3rd generation Quantim QMC Coriolis mass flow meters and controllers are critical for accurate mass balance calculations. Below an excerpt from a paper written by Trigas in 2018 ‘Practical Aspects of Turbine Flow Meters Calibration and UVC principles’. A change in viscosity can have a significant impact on the k-factor of an instrument, this is instrument specific and it is difficult to predict how an instrument will respond to a change in viscosity without a calibration at the specific condition. This is why Trescal encourage customers to engage in dialog with us to allow us to highlight this effect and to assist in determining the viscosity of their operating fluid and also to advise if different calibrations at different viscosities may be required. We can offer flow calibrations at differing viscosities. #calibration #flow

Help your Gas Engineer with Gas detector replacement - be a man! Consilium detector got mad and stuck at 20% LEL. Calibration of Zero with N2 gas didn’t help. Calibration of 70% Span didn’t help. Restart/reset didn’t help. And when we touched mA knobs for manual adjustment - detector got crazy with mA drifting with no reaction at all. So the replacement with new one helped. Low alarm with 30% LEL - set. High alarm with 60% LEL - set. Zero - calibrated. Span 70% - calibrated. Detector enabled - online and running with 0% LEL readings 👌🏼 #PRO_LNG | always here to help.
