If you are married and want to start your entrepreneurial journey, make sure your partner is up for it. This is not for faint-hearted partners; there are many ups and downs. For some time, you may have to live a life that you are not used to. You may have to skip weekend parties with old buddies, group holidays, or dineouts as your finances may not allow for them. It is not a one-man show at home. A long face can bring down the energy of the entire family, but when someone says, 'Don't worry, we are together in this; keep going,' it lifts the morale immediately. #Trust #me, you will need the support of your partner at home to fight the battles outside.

Check this out if in need of mentoring or just a good story.
Marcella and Matt McManus have been regular customers at Giuliano's Deli for ten years. Recently, they took over the ownership of the beloved Glenside eatery from the original owners who retired. With guidance from their SCORE mentor, the couple was able to smoothly navigate the business acquisition, just in time for National Mom and Pop Business Owners Day on March 29th! Their SCORE mentor helped them find an attorney and an insurance broker, ensuring a seamless transition. Marcella's pre-sale immersion in the deli's operations, supported by their mentor, paved the way for a successful handover. The new owners are enthusiastic about preserving the deli's charm and expanding its menu. Jay Pritzker amassed a $15 billion fortune, mainly through the Hyatt hotel chain he established in 1957. But one of the patriarch's final deals before his 1999 death, designed to bind his heirs closer, unleashed a torrent of anger, greed, and betrayal, culminating in a $6 billion lawsuit by his 19-year-old niece, Liesel. Upon Jay Pritzker's passing in 1999, the expectation was for the remaining family members to continue the business legacy together. However, a twist was in store. Jay Pritzker's children, nieces, nephews, and cousin Nicholas had secretly agreed on a 10-year plan to dismantle the family's business empire and divide the assets among themselves. Each participant was set to receive an equal share, estimated at a staggering $1.4 billion. The only ones left out of this secret pact were Liesel and Matthew Pritzker. The family's decision to tear apart a monumental American fortune and dismantle a business empire that had taken four generations a century to build was a shock to outsiders. The absolute horror, however, was the bitter feuding within the family that led to this decision. In 2002, Liesel and Matthew filed a lawsuit against their father, Robert Pritzker, and other relatives, alleging that around $1 billion had been wrongfully taken from their trust funds. The lawsuit was resolved in 2005, with Liesel and Matthew receiving $500 million and giving up any further claims on the family's assets. Subsequently, the remaining family assets were distributed among the other eleven Pritzker relatives. The Pritzkers could have used my help. Estate battles can tear families apart. Please don't hesitate to contact me to start planning to avoid family feuds. #familybusinessmediation #estates #successionplanning #familybusiness
