No Wine Cabinet? No Problem.
If you plan your wine purchases smartly, you can get the most out of them despite not owning a wine cabinet.
Here’s another tip: Never store your wine in almirahs or kitchen cabinets at room temperature and this increases the chance of spoilage. ❌

Three things to do if you don't own a wine cabinet. Number one, please buy your wines from a modern retail store which has a wide selection of wines. And most importantly, these wines are stored in good conditions. Please don't buy wines from those shady shops where these wines are gathering dust on shelves and they're very poorly stored #2 by as many number of bottles as you need to consume within a month. Because you don't own a wine cabinet, your next best option is to store. These bottles in your food fridge and your food fridge is too cold for storing wines. So only by as much as you need to drink within a month #3. Drink up these wines as soon as possible. Share them with your friends, family and your loved ones. Because if you keep these wines under cork for too long in your food fridge, your cork will dry out and it'll crumble on the way out. Have you ever experienced that? And if you have any trouble finishing this wine, then call me. Cheers.

To decant or not to decant? 🍷 That is the question!
Whether you're savouring a bold red or a delicate white, decanting can enhance your tasting experience by allowing the wine to breathe and fully express its flavours.
So, when should you decant? For younger wines, especially bold reds, aeration can soften tannins and reveal hidden layers of complexity. Even crisp whites can benefit, as decanting can enhance their bouquet and texture, allowing for a more nuanced tasting experience.
But remember, not all wines require decanting – lighter reds and delicate whites may lose their vibrancy if left too long.

Here’s why you need a wine decanter
A decanter is a glass vessel in which wine is transferred from its glass bottle for service. Here’s how wine benefits from decanting-
It helps separate sediments that collect over time in old wines.
In the case of young or everyday drinking wines, it increases surface area for exposure to oxygen, releasing their wonderful flavours and aromas.
If you are pouring an inexpensive wine at a party and do not want to reveal that to your guests, you can simply pour it in a decanter and stow away the bottle.
Decanters are gorgeous to look at, elevating the style quotient of your bar.
Here’s a pro tip: Always wash your decanter thoroughly to protect it from wine stains and air it before storing it so that it doesn’t get a musty smell.

Beginners Guide to enjoy wine
Starting to enjoy wine can be overwhelming with its vast varieties and etiquette. To help you get started, here are three essential things to consider:
1️⃣ A corkscrew, butterfly wings, or screwpull are essential tools for opening a bottle of wine sealed with a cork, each designed to effortlessly extract the cork. However, wines sealed with a screwcap don't require any of these tools, making them more convenient for quick and easy access.
2️⃣ Wine glasses should be clear, stemmed, with a broad base and a narrow rim to enhance the wine's aromas and flavors. Lighter, thinner glasses elevate the drinking experience, offering a more refined and enjoyable sip.
3️⃣ A wine cabinet is ideal for storing wine, keeping the temperature consistently between 11-14°C to preserve the wine's quality. If you don't have a wine cabinet, storing wines in a food fridge is a temporary solution, but it's best not to exceed a month to avoid affecting the wine's taste and aging process.
By paying attention to these details, you can elevate your wine experience to new heights.
