⚠️ 3 Signs Your Tenant Might Leave Without Notice 🚪 Keep an eye out for these warning signs that your tenant may be planning to leave suddenly: 1. Late or missed rent payments 💸 – Regularly missed payments could mean financial trouble. 2. Avoiding communication 📵 – If your tenant is ignoring your calls or emails, they might be planning a quick exit. 3. Sudden job loss 💼 – Financial issues, like job loss, could push tenants to leave without notice. Have you, or someone you know, recently experienced job loss? The grief (which we often hide because of shame) is real. As someone who left, rather than lost, a job a few years back, I found this an insightful and rather validating watch. I've connected with so many people in recent months who are grappling with the aftermath of job loss. I'd recommend the short video in the post below from Dr Denise Quinlan and Dr Lucy Hone to anyone who has recently lost a role, or to anyone who is supporting a friend or loved one through job loss. So many learns in just 30 minutes, including: 😔 Grief can occur with any type of loss, yet non-death losses go widely unacknowledged, which causes unnecessary harm. 😔 Grief is not an emotion, it's an array of multiple emotions that can hit you physically. 😔 The "5 stages of grief" is, in fact, a load of BS. We all grieve differently, there are no set stages. Why is job loss so painful for many? 💡 Well - for many of us, our identities are wrapped up in our job. 💡 We can feel held by a framework of routine and structure (I really relate to this one!). 💡 We may find ourselves not only grieving loss of income and all that comes with that, but also the loss of belonging, relationships with colleagues, our professional identity and our sense of purpose. 💡 The loss of a job can bring a sense of shame - many find it difficult to talk about how much it hurts until we have secured something new. Which means we don't seek the help we need when we need it the most. What can we do about this? Some tips include: ✅ Grief is better not done alone. If you are here, find someone you can talk to. ✅ Regain control of your mental health by asking yourself: "Is what I'm doing right now helping me or harming me?" ✅ Sometimes it's OK to wallow. But you don't have to stay there all the time. It's healthy to oscillate - sometimes approaching your grief, but sometimes withdrawing from it through engaging distractions (including those that make you laugh - it's not only OK to laugh, it can be healthy). ✅ The Coping with Loss website mentioned in the post below contains a wealth of useful (and free!) resources. If you're in my network, you've experienced job loss and you're not sure who to talk to, please DM me. I'm happy to listen. What struck me the most from watching this video is that no one should go through this alone.

I found this an insightful session. As well as new ideas, often there are things we already know, but a reminder is welcome to help reset the focus!

July is #disabilitypridemonth Have you considered dyscalculia in your designs and services? What is dyscalculia? Learn more at this link: https://lnkd.in/ezFJkekm #accessibility #inclusivedesign #ux #uxr #uxdesign #servicedesign #dataethics
How I read the date and time as someone who needs help with numbers (#Dyscalculic). I've had some work people over recently. One of them sent me a message. "We will visit you at 15:00 on 09/07/24." At first glance, 15:00 looks like 5pm (it's similar to £5.00 and I often confuse time and money). Since I know that's not the right time, I look up what 15:00 means and convert it to 3pm using the 12 hour clock. Now the date. It's not immediately obvious to me that the date (09/07/24) is today. The zero in 09 throws me off. I don't know if today is the 9th so I check. Since I can't recall the months of the year in the right order, I count using my finger. I figure out that numbrer 7 is July. I thought of a few ways to write the time and date. Option B) We will visit you at 3pm on Tuesday 9 July Option C) We will visit you at 3pm today Both version B and C are clearer to me. Using the name of the day 'Tuesday' or the word 'today' helps me a lot. If the appointment (or whatever it is) is soon, consider removing the year. Unless there's an important reason to keep it (and there could be). Edit: I’m in the UK but it’s really interesting hearing about people’s experience overseas. Always do user research if you can. You don’t want to negatively impact other people’s experience by making changes to your content. But I hope by sharing my experience you can see how numbers don’t always look the same to everyone.
