This one blew my mind!... 🤯 Over the weekend, I started reading 'Scary Smart' by Mo Gawdat. It's a fantastically eye opening book around the future of Artificial Intelligence and what we can do to save the world. In the early chapters of the book, Mo discusses how in the future, self driving cars will always be the safest way to drive as technology and AI advances. Way more safer than how we drive today with us humans behind the wheel. That is because... If a human being is involved in a car crash or an accident, the human being learns what to do or not to do the next time they are behind the wheel. This will hopefully prevent a similar accident from happening to that person in the future. If a self driving car is involved in a car crash or an accident... Thanks to AI, the car learns what to do or not to do the next time, so does the manufacturer, so does every other self driving car that is on the road from that manufacturer and so too does every future self driving car around the world that hasn't been made yet by the manufacturer. Wow!! When you think of it like that, things are going to change even faster than they are at the moment very very soon indeed! What do you think about the future of the world with respect to AI? Will AI allow us to live out our utopian dream? Or will we have to run for our lives from the machines?

There’s been a lot of talk about AI lately. And that’s good. There is somewhat less talk about its application to transportation and how it can help alleviate the driver shortage. And that’s not so good.
