#GettingToKnowSonsio: Aaron Talbert is our Associate Spotlight for August! What is your Sonsio story? I have been working on cars since I was about 15 years old. I worked at GM for about 10 years and Jason Gresham, who I worked with at GM, had moved to Sonsio. He told me about the company and how great it was, so I made the decision to stop working on cars full-time (I still do as a hobby) and came to Sonsio about 17 years ago. I think it says a lot about Sonsio that there are a lot of people who have been with the company for a long, long period of time. I would say that’s pretty rare for a company to retain people like that. Who were your mentors or advocates throughout your journey? There are quite a few. James, Kirk, Eddie, Jason, Michelle, Terry, TC, the whole WEX department…really all the people I work with. They always help with whatever you need; help you do better and figure out problems. What is your favorite part of working on the Mechanical team? I really enjoy being able to help a customer out when they are stranded or out of town and they don’t have any direction of what to do. They need guidance and my favorite part of being on the Mechanical team is being able to use my knowledge to get them out of a stressful situation as well as I can so they can get back to normalness. My team all gets along really well and we help each other out. When anyone has any questions, we all bounce ideas off each other and, in the end, we take care of the customer. What is something you are proud of? Just trying to be kind and helpful; trying to help people out when they need it. What would your perfect weekend look like? I do a lot of camping so I would have to say it would be my family, my friends, and I going camping, riding our ATVs, fishing, playing some cornhole, grilling, smoking food, and then having a nice campfire. #FeatureFriday
