At the annual NTT R&D Forum, Siraj Raval explored demonstrations of #6G, #Robotics, #LLM, #Photonics, #Bioengineered technology and much more. One key point of interest: NTT's All Photonic Network (#APN). Siraj shares that the advantage of using photonics stems from the ability of light to travel faster than electricity and across greater distances without losing signal strength. He also highlights the network's three main performance targets: lower power consumption, higher capacity and minimized latency. Physics, eventually “controlled” natural phenomena? Aim should be also augmented bio-genesis as well as all things quantum/ comfort/ military/ orbital/ interstellar. Not in love with VR. I mean, I get it, but I’d give credence to AUGMENTED REALITY projected platforms over VR. Maybe hyper field contact-lenses for proximity/ range/ energy spectrum purposes. Previously “Deaf” who have brain implants are proof of concept, and prosthetics are beyond imaginable already, but I wonder about subtle hidden bio-genesis as human augmentation, even if robot parts seem more salable/ tangible. Like, augmentation of bones, which could be a slow many years long process, or any other number of technological assists that would be at physio-chemical-genetic time-scales. Like regrowing limbs/ growing organs. Robotics and geometric-timed data structures are the way to it. But it may be useful to angle for less of a Darth Vader, more of a technological assist and unique/ intrinsic/ extrinsic maths at biogenesis and atomic physics scales too.

*New IROS Paper* 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐈𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢-𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐭 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬 Preprint: https://lnkd.in/d-vtw5XH Video: https://lnkd.in/d4Naw9u6 We reconstruct collective behaviour by transforming prior demonstrations into features that describe multi-agent interactions before behaviour reconstruction with multi-agent generative adversarial imitation learning (MA-GAIL). We show that our approach outperforms existing algorithms in spatial organization, and can be used to observe and reconstruct a swarm’s behaviour for further analysis and testing, which might be impractical or undesirable on the original robot swarm.
