The authors reflect on their publication during the inaugural year of the journal and review the subsequent research on LbL assembly mediated interface design triggered by this work. The Centre for Ocean Energy Research (COER) at Maynooth University, Ireland has a further opportunity for a well-qualified applicant on a prestigious Science Foundation Ireland ocean energy project: Simultaneous stabilization and wave energy harvesting for a floating offshore wind/wave platform   This project is funded by Research Ireland and the successful candidate will join a dynamic group of around 20 postdoctoral, PhD and other researchers in COER, who work on the development of wave energy technology, with projects funded from various national and international sources. I am so happy to meet four of my former PhD students in Paris. They are all doing very well in the private sector and are still engaged in advanced technical work that they could not have accomplished without their PhD training. Last but not least, Ioannis Boukas wrote great papers on using AI techniques for interacting with energy markets and is still working in this field at Engie. The article entitled "A Comprehensive Analysis of the Optimal GWO based FOPID MPPT Controller for Grid-Tied Photovoltaics System under Atmospheric Uncertainty"-has been accepted for publication in Energy Reports, Elsevier. Impact Factor: 4.7, Thanks to the Almighty.

I am pleased to announce that our recent paper, “Large-eddy simulations of turbulent wake flows behind helical- and straight-bladed vertical axis wind turbines rotating at low tip speed ratios,” has been published in Physical Review Fluids. In this study, we employ large-eddy simulations to investigate the effects of helical-shaped blades on the wake flow characteristics of vertical axis wind turbines (VAWTs) operating at low tip speed ratios. Our findings reveal that the helical-bladed VAWT exhibits significantly smaller temporal variations in torque and power coefficients compared to the straight-bladed VAWT, leading to smoother wind power generation. Thanks to my PhD advisor Di Yang and our collaborators Luis A Martínez Tossas, Shuolin Xiao, and Daniel Araya for their contributions to this work.
