Yesterday we saw again what benefit a neutral third party trust provider like the Urban Tech Helsinki Incubator can bring to the table. Well one of them at least. We had and incredibly open and fruitful event where the incubator startups met with our stakeholders from Business Helsinki Helsingin kaupunki – Helsingfors stad – City of Helsinki, University of Helsinki, Metropolia University of Applied Sciences and Aalto University. They sat on the same side of the table and discussed how the startups could help the stakeholders and how to improve their solutions to match the needs of cities and other customers. I believe some of the startups took good strides forward in a short time. Lesson learned. Sit together and discuss openly. Be on the same side - at least in principle. We are all trying to make good. This week, Civitta Estonia's Startup and Innovation team is in Vienna to organize the Final Event of the URBAN TECH Project during #ViennaUP. 🦄 ⏰ Today the projects top startups in the Health Tech, Smart City, and Greentech sectors will pitch their innovations at the Impact Days 2024. Over the past three years, the URBAN TECH program has enabled more than 160 companies in the Health Tech, Smart City, and Greentech sectors to validate their solutions and accelerate their growth. Throughout the project, 80 companies were selected to develop a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), 33 advanced to the Piloting phase, and 23 proceeded to the Market Discovery Phase. It all starts with an idea that has the potential to make the world a better place. But it doesn't stop with these established names. It's the combination of technology and design, and our unique collaboration model that makes this region the ultimate breeding ground for startups. That's why a large group of volunteers led by Innovation Origins names the most promising startups every year. This year marked the tenth edition of the event, bringing the total number of awarded startups to 100(!).
