While researching how to increase blood flow and improve drug delivery to cancerous tumors, Dr. Rakesh Jain and his team of researchers stumbled upon a major discovery. While combining Bevacizumb and Losartan, the team discovered that this combination of drugs can also be used to improve the treatment of tuberculosis! Dr. Rakesh Jain, winner of the 2022 Szent-Györgyi Prize in cancer research, and his research lab receive funds from the National Foundation for Cancer Research. Although this advancement is not geared towards finding a cure for cancer, it is a major medical development that should be celebrated.
