Adam + Eve The project aim was to transform the existing anonymous house into a place that reflected the personalities of the client; a professional couple who shared a love for the sun, and a passion for anything related to motorbikes. The ground floor was previously a maze of partitions and tiny spaces. A toilet, a shower room, a bedroom, a garage and a tiny entrance hall were forced into a small footprint. This was all cleared and a single partition was installed from the front wall. On one side of this partition, the garage was created, accessible from the street, and containing wall to wall red storage for motorbike-related paraphernalia. On the other side of the partition, a totally new entrance experience was created. Full height cupboards contain washing and drying machines as well as further storage. Their mirror finish brings light and width to the space. @britishhomesawards #SophieNguyenArchitects #BritishHomesAwards #BHA24 #HomeTransformation #Light #Architecture #Design #Spacious #architecturelovers Sophie Nguyen Architects Architect Assistant: Alexandra Trasnea @ada.trasnea Structural Engineering: Graphic Structures @graphic.structures Main contractor: CAPE CONSTRUCTION Metal Staircase Fabrication: Zedworks Design @zedworksdesign Polished concrete floor: Lazenby @lazenbyltd Photos: @huftonandcrow

Waffle Slab: Strength and Aesthetics in Construction A waffle slab is a reinforced concrete slab system with a grid-like pattern of ribs on its underside, resembling a waffle. This unique design enhances structural efficiency, making it ideal for large spans in commercial and industrial buildings. The ribs reduce the slab's weight while maintaining strength, enabling it to support heavy loads with minimal material use. Waffle slabs are often used in parking structures, airports, and malls due to their ability to span large areas without the need for numerous columns. They also allow for creative ceiling aesthetics, as the exposed grid pattern adds architectural appeal. Efficient, durable, and visually striking, waffle slabs combine engineering innovation with design versatility, making them a popular choice in modern construction. Waffle reinforced concrete slab known by advantages for commercial ,auditorium ,residential projects like beautiful ribs designes, longer span bneficiaries and costly effectiveness. it is difficult to cast it and higher skilleness of labour required and mostly it may be time taking design .Although it may be difficult to define cost of slab may be less with respect to another slabs.its self weight may be less but can't accepted where movement of heavy load over the slab .

Site Unseen The façade materials business is fairly “local,” meaning most of our projects are within two hours of our office. Occasionally we’ll have a project specified by a New York architect for a site much further away. The Catherine Commons project is located in Collegetown, an off-campus neighborhood in Ithaca, New York. In situations like these it’s often difficult to make site visits as frequently as usual. And in the case of ArmorWall, a material that accelerates the façade installation and project schedule, there is even less of an opportunity to view on-site progress. Add to that the work of Duraframe, an off-site wall panel manufacturer that assembled the metal stud framing and ArmorWall sheathing 93 miles away in Webster, NY, and the window of observation is very short indeed. And since ArmorWall is completely covered by the building cladding there is no aesthetic element to its use, only thermal and moisture control performance and though there is “nothing to see” it is always satisfying to visit a completed project. Structural elevations of a building typically refer to the detailed drawings or views that represent the vertical dimensions and structural elements of the building from different perspectives. These drawings are essential for architects, engineers, and construction professionals as they provide a comprehensive understanding of the building's structure. The key components of structural elevations include: 1. **Front Elevation**: Shows the vertical view of the building from the front, including the facade, entry points, windows, and any architectural features. 2. **Rear Elevation**: Depicts the back view of the building, detailing elements like rear entrances, balconies, and any other architectural details present on the rear side. 3. **Side Elevations (Left and Right)**: Provide views from the left and right sides of the building. These elevations show side windows, doors, and the relationship of the building with the surrounding environment. 4. **Roof Elevation**: Represents the structure and design of the roof, including the slope, materials, and any rooftop features like chimneys, skylights, or mechanical equipment. 5. **Detailed Elevations**: Focus on specific parts of the building, such as detailed views of windows, doors, staircases, and other architectural elements to ensure accurate construction and design. 6. **Foundation Elevation**: Shows the vertical dimensions and layout of the building's foundation, including footings, piers, and basement walls. Each elevation includes crucial details like dimensions, materials, finishes, and structural components, ensuring all aspects of the building's design and construction #construction #loan #builder #raghavendra #company #building #architecture #apartment #architect #interiordesigners #interiordesign #banglore #mysore #coorg #chikkmanglore #kolar

A building is more than just walls and spaces; it’s a harmonious integration of structural components that ensure stability, functionality, and longevity. In this detailed sketch, I’ve illustrated the key structural elements that come together to form a cohesive structure—each with its unique purpose and role. Key Takeaways: 1. Foundation: The cornerstone of any structure, transferring loads to the ground and providing a stable base for everything above. A well-designed foundation ensures the building stands strong against time and environmental forces. 2. Roof: The shield of a building, safeguarding interiors from external elements while contributing to its aesthetic and structural balance. 3. Columns, Beams, and Slabs: Work cohesively to bear loads and maintain equilibrium. 4. Lintels and Sills: Support functional openings while maintaining structural integrity. 5. Walls: Essential vertical elements that enclose spaces, provide support, and contribute to insulation, soundproofing, and overall stability. Feel free to share your thoughts or your own experiences while planning the structure of a building in the comments below!
