As a company developing therapeutic solutions for #Endometriosis, we understand the need to advance research in women’s health. We applaud First Lady Jill Biden's announcement of $100 million in federal funding for women's health research and innovation. This investment recognizes the historical lack of focus on women's health. This funding through the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) will support groundbreaking work that can be “life-changing” for women. We look forward to continuing our work to transform research and care for conditions like endometriosis. With support from initiatives like this, the future looks brighter for women's health. #WomensHealth #WomensHealthResearch #Endometriosis #FemaleHealth #WomensHealthMatters #HealthEquity #FemTech https://lnkd.in/dwFfUcYx

Yet another #incredible and #thoughtprovoking session at the #MedTechcon 2024: "Women + Health: Are We Gaining Momentum and Advancing Equity?" It was both eye-opening and empowering as a #woman and a #regulatoryprofessional to hear industry leaders address the critical disparities in women’s health care. We often overlook the fact that women's health is far broader than reproductive health. This session highlighted key issues: - Conditions like migraines and cardiovascular diseases impact women differently, yet only 2% of non-cancer medical research focuses on women's health. - Women spend 18% more on out-of-pocket healthcare costs and are more likely to be misdiagnosed than men. - Women make the majority of household health care decisions but often delay care due to accessibility issues. Listening to experts like:Sheryl Jacobson (#DeloitteUS), Mike Hamilton (#GEHealthCareCanada), Holly Sheffield (#CooperSurgical), and Gabriela Kaynor (#OlympusCorporation of the Americas) discuss the need for equitable design strategies made me hopeful for the future of MedTech. Their insights on how we can prioritize women’s health in innovation were inspiring and motivating. It reminded me of the critical role we play in making health care more #accessible and #inclusive for all. I was proud to attend this ongoing conversation, and I look forward to seeing these industry leaders push forward with solutions that make women’s health a strategic priority. Let’s continue to advance equity in health care! 💪💼 #MedTechCon #MTC24 #WomensHealth #EquityInHealth #HealthcareInnovation #RegulatoryAffairs #WomenInRegulation #InclusiveHealth

🌟 Let's talk about WOMEN'S HEALTH! 🌟 It's time to shine a spotlight on the importance of allocating more resources to women's health issues. Women's health is a crucial aspect of overall well-being, yet it often doesn't receive the attention and funding it deserves. Imagine a world where groundbreaking new drug delivery systems revolutionize the way we approach women's health. These advancements have the potential to transform lives, increase access to innovative treatments, and enhance healthcare outcomes for all women. Currently, there are high demands for designing modified release drug delivery systems for reducing frequency of dosing and increasing the efficiency of the drug at the required site to minimize its side effects. But once again many are “fine tuned” for man rather then for women. Even well know and relatively simple facts - like the fact that women have slower gastric motility and intestinal transit than men, they may need to wait longer between food consumption and medication if a drug is to be taken on an empty stomach- are often ignored. By investing in research, education, and access to quality healthcare, we can empower women to take control of their health and lead healthier, more fulfilling lives and more productive society. Let's champion women's health together and pave the way for a brighter, healthier future for all. Join the movement for better women's health - because when women are healthy, society thrives. 💪💖 #WomensHealth #HealthcareInnovation #EmpowerWomen #Innovation #Healthcare

Exciting news was announced yesterday when the White House announced $100m in dedicated funding for women’s health. While helpful in overcoming some of the health disparities faced by women, it’s not enough for a few reasons: Consider that a study in 2020 estimated that the average cost of getting one new drug into the market was $1.3 billion. (This number was much lower compared to previous studies, which have placed the average cost of drug development as $2.8 billion). Women represent the majority of Alzheimer’s patients and our cardiovascular health is worse than men. Work in these diseases is very expensive. There are still inadequate treatments for women’s health conditions, such as endometriosis and autoimmune conditions. $100m is minimal in comparison to the realistic investment needed to noticeably advance women’s health research. $100m is a small percentage of the total annual NIH budget, which is over $46B. The rounding error is being thrown to women to grab headlines and get votes, but not to make serious change. Recent state actions, such as recent rulings in Alabama on the status of frozen embryos and the resulting discontinuation of IVF services by some hospitals, cause significant harm to women’s health, which is not mitigated by the increased funding. More needs to be done with a comprehensive view of all of the ways in which US women are disadvantaged when it comes to their health. We need a serious commitment and should not be bought so cheaply. #womenshealth #equitableaccess
