EU Restrictive measures - Directive 2024/1226 has been published today in the official Journal. It obliges EU Member States to ensure, by 20 May 2025, the effective application of Union restrictive measures, have effective, proportionate and dissuasive criminal and non-criminal penalties in place for the violation of those Union restrictive measures, including obligations, such as that of reporting. Legislative changes came into effect on the 25th of April impacting, and regularising, the length of time all planning breaches will have to now wait before becoming immune to enforcement.
