Poah, quite the black Friday for aviation yesterday and not mainly because of high traffic numbers. We saw various problems and outages amongst some of our customers as a result of the Crowdstrike update issue. Crowdstrike is a renowned IT security company which provides part of the security in the Windows operating system. A faulty update led to operating systems failing and therefore crashing servers running all sorts of critical systems around the world. Linux based system were not directly affected but since the interconnected nature of the industry, everyone was impacted to a certain extent. Yesterday's event underpinns the importance of high reliability and low risk IT in the industry as knock-on effects don't just relate to delays as we have now seen. https://lnkd.in/es9J7CNg
