I for one find profound passion in undertaking projects and addressing intricate engineering challenges. The competencies inherent in project management and Engineering consulting are deeply valued and integral to one’s professional pursuits. The attached document presents brief insights into three of the projects dispatched to third-year BSc (Hons) Mining Engineering students of the University of the Witwatersrand. This compilation of reports highlights various facets of Mining and Resource assessment in South Africa. The first report assesses the hypothetical feasibility of a coal reserve in Witbank Mpumalanga, emphasizing the need for an optimized coal-washing facility to enhance coal quality and marketability (improved revenue with a competitive run of mine). The second report examines a Sulphide-chromite orebody with Nickel concentrations using Geostatistical techniques, ensuring accurate grade estimations and adherence to the SAMREC reporting standards. The third project evaluates mine surveying and geospatial techniques, emphasizing the importance of precise measurements and mapping of excavations. This is essential for the monitoring of ground and slope stability while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Kindly take a moment and get insight. I extend my heartfelt thanks to the various exceptional teams with whom I collaborated on these projects. Your dedication, expertise, and unwavering support were instrumental. Recently, it is reported from Huainan Geological Exploration Engineering Branch that the company has successfully constructed a large-diameter directional drilling borehole with a diameter of 200mm in Zhangji Coal Mine by using ZDY23000LDK high-power automatic directional drilling rig of CCTEG Xi'an Research Institute (Group) Co., Ltd. Drilling accidents such as borehole collapse, block falling, shrinkage and oversize are common in Huainan coal field due to poor stratum stability and complex geological conditions. In addition, the underground construction is troubled by a series of problems such as high working environment temperature and high labor intensity due to large mining depth. ZDY23000LDK high-power automatic directional drilling rig developed by CCTEG Xi'an Research Institute adopts a crawler layout structure and is used in complete sets with crawler mud pump trucks. It has the advantages of independent walking ability, convenient relocation, flexible site layout and strong gradeability, and is suitable for large-diameter near-horizontal deep borehole directional drilling construction. Up to now, 1#, 2# and 3# large diameter boreholes have been completed. During the construction process, difficulties such as large rock hardness and difficult drill cutting discharge were overcome. Finally, three boreholes were completed with final depths of 568m, 639m and 560m respectively, creating one-time drilling depth record of large diameter (200mm) borehole in China. "This breakthrough not only deepens the gas drainage technology of 'replacing roadways with holes', but also greatly saves drilling quantities, reduces drilling maintenance costs, reduces personnel cost investment, improves drilling utilization rate and gas drainage efficiency, which plays a positive role in ensuring safe, efficient and green mining of coal mines. It is really worth it!" Huainan Geological Exploration Engineering Branch downhole special drilling work area deputy mayor Qi Jun said. It is an innovative application of gas pre-drainage and outburst elimination in large diameter directional constructed by high power automatic directional drilling rig. The success of this application is of great significance to effectively promote the transformation of production mode of coal enterprises, enhance their disaster control ability and reduce costs. #drilling #horizontaldirectionaldrilling #directionaldrilling #coal #miningengineering #coalmining #exploration #coalindia #drillingrig #geology

Recently, the "one-hole multi-purpose" technology of directional long drilling segmented hydraulic fracturing of CCTEG Xi'an Research Institute is once again ushering in a new breakthrough. The innovative breakthrough of this technology provides an effective way to reduce the impact of rock burst, high gas, water, fire and other disasters in Binchang mining area. For a long time, Binchang mining area has been deeply affected by four major disasters, such as rock burst, high gas, water and fire. The disaster management project has heavy tasks, large personnel input and high project cost. In order to achieve the goal of cost reduction and efficiency increase and multi-disaster coordinated management, CCTEG Xi'an Research Institute has responded to the needs of miners at once, combined with years of engineering experience, actively carried out technical research, upgraded and optimized the existing directional long drilling segmented hydraulic fracturing technology, and finally formed the collaborative management technology of rock burst and gas advance area. Through the construction of directional drilling and hydraulic #fracturing, the risk of rock burst is reduced; At the same time, the coal seam gas enters the extraction pipeline along the crack of the roof to realize efficient gas extraction. This technology has achieved remarkable results in the application practice of Hujiahe mine 401106 working face in Bingchang #mining area. At present, it has been successfully extracted through the fracturing area. Monitoring data shows that the pure extraction volume of the roof drilling is 2-3 times higher than that of the traditional gas extraction hole, and the energy and stress of the working face are reduced by 20%-30%, effectively reducing the impact risk. Field practice has proved that hydraulic fracturing technology can realize the collaborative prevention and control of rock burst pressure, water and gas, and achieve the purpose of coal seam permeability improvement, dust reduction, and improvement of lump #coal rate in the #drilling along the coal seam, and truly realize the goal of "multiple use of one hole, cost reduction and efficiency increase". #hydraulicfracturing #drillingrig #directionaldrilling #coal #miningsafety #coalmining #geology #coalmine
