We all in the music business have different value to give. Some areas involve the actual production of music. Some put music to film. Other areas involve the business side of the industry...management, copyright etc etc.. Some don't even mention the mental health department because it's just so lacking these days. Yet... We all come together like a song does. Each area doing it's best thing. Your thing is valued. Let's come together. #musicindustry #musician #producer #business #entertainment

Label deals: Binding beats! 📜🎧 Once rights to a song are signed over to a label, the contract dictates terms. Retracting a song would likely require negotiations, potential penalties, or might not be possible, depending on contract terms. #musicartists #musicmaker #musicmanagement #musicartist #managementconsulting #songs #abogadas #producer #legaltips #legalprotections #smarthcontracts

Music Producer/Composer for Film, TV & Media. Sync Credits include NBC, CBS, CW, BET, VH-1, BRAVO, MTV, NFL, OWN, NETFLIX, SHOWTIME
THROWBACK THURSDAY: THIS is my most used most placed track to date being used in over 25 different shows many of them multiple times. It's been used on two different episodes of " Celerity Prank Wars " and most recently on VH1 " My True Crime Story " on 4 different episodes. This track which I wrote 7 years ago and considered a throw away track at the time of composing it and ALMOST didn't submit 2 the #musiclibrary . Everyone always uses the 1st 30 sec. which really catches your attention like something is about to happen. NOTE 2 #musicproducers when composing 4 #sync try 2 incorporate an attention grabber in your music ( drum fill , crash , orch. hit ,etc) something that will catch the #musicsupervisors ear. QUALITY , DEPENDABLE , CONSISTENCY HOW CAN MY MUSIC SERVE U ? #music #musicforfilm #musicfortv #musicformedia #tvmusic #film #syncmusic #synclicensing #productionmusic #sync #musicproducer #musiccomposer #musicproduction #newmusic #musicsupervisor #musicsupervisors #musiclicensing

Why having a best track as a music producer is not adequate for business! Having a "best track" is undoubtedly an accomplishment and showcases your artistic prowess. However consistency Matters way more. While a standout track is impressive, consistency is key in expanding your reach of client work. Having a string of quality tracks ready to go helps establish credibility and sustains audience engagement. Diverse Skill Set: The industry demands versatility. Producers need to demonstrate proficiency in various styles of a genre or more to cater to diverse client needs, especially sync licensing. Conclusion: Consider all the music in your catalogue as best tracks as opposed to lowering your probability in picking what you may feel the client would like best! The biggest hits out there are never what artists and producers felt was their best work! #synclicensing #syncmusic #musiclicensing #musicproducer #musician #songwriter #songwriters

Music Supervisor for the Oscar Contending Film "Iron Temple," Musician & Director || I Create Content for Pop & Latin Music Brands || Keynote Speaker #Tedx
Music artists everyone's pitching. The same people you are trying to reach are the same people at publishing and licensing companies blindly send messages to. Heck, I've gotten one or two messages from A&Rs from places like Universal trying to get placements. Nevertheless, these are people. They are doing the same thing as you but with better resources. Stop looking at big titles but rather a person(s) who can help you achieve your goals in reciprocity. Don't be thirsty. Just because someone has the resources or works with big company doesn't mean they're the right person to work with. Simply put: stop looking at sync people like they are God's gatekeepers of the world. 😄 #muscians #musicpublishing #televisionproduction #filmmaking

Show Us Your Contracts, and We'll Tell You Who You Are At the heart of every contract lie your values, mission, and vision. These elements define who you are as a music company and what you stand for. For example, if you are an indie record label that says you stand for transparency, but your contracts are full of legal jargon, are you really transparent? If you say your mission is to empower indie artists to thrive, but you operate like old-school industry sharks, taking everything from the artist, is that your real mission? By embedding your values, mission, and vision into your contracts, you ensure that every agreement aligns with your core principles and long-term objectives. This alignment: → Strengthens your brand → Builds trust with your artists and partners → Fosters a collaborative and supportive environment Make sure your contracts reflect who you truly are. --- #musiccontracts #musicindustry #musiclaw

I remember when I worked in distribution, the CONSTANT debate was whether or not artists should commit to a body of work or stick to a single every few weeks. What I found was that there were more opportunities for steady growth with the singles, compared to the album. And once we were ready for an ALBUM or EP, we had a good sense by then, of which singles were popular enough to make the track list which REALLY helped the marketing team decide which songs deserved a music video. I think the main issue is that the rate of album consumption has significantly decreased, so the pressure of pushing 10+ tracks at once as an indie artist is futile. Especially if your main avenue is social media because the algorithm is just as unpredictable as the reception of the album itself. This is why I think that this formula works best for upcoming musicians. Look at Russ and Yung Beathoven. Perfect examples of this. #koptonmusic #insights #musicmarketing #indiemusic #musician
Some food for thought this Thursday!💡Releasing new music every few weeks establishes the kind of consistency that 1 album a year can’t. This is especially true for upcoming artists because music isn’t consumed at the same rate as it used to be 30+ years ago.🤔💭That means that you need to build an audience by introducing them to your sound in small increments, instead of an overwhelming track list when the majority might not even know who you are.💡Once you have established yourself with your singles, an album will naturally be IN DEMAND from your fanbase and might include singles that you have noticed were popular from previous releases! What do YOU think of this analogy?🤔💭Let us know in the comments! #koptonmusic #synclicensing #songwriter #ai #musicpublisher #musician #distribution #indie #musicbusiness #tips #visual #graph #marketing
