Am really excited by cunoFS and what this can bring to the M&E space! I have been using cunoFS & Storj in a combination of workflows where I leverage Storj's global s3 compliant object storage as a true shared storage platform for editing with DaVinci Resolve for both high-res and proxy edits. By cunoFS not sharding the objects on the object storage, along with Storj's s3 interface, this brings so many options to take workloads now. Not just on-prem or EC2, but also with Docker Containers too! More to follow, watch this space... #tyrellcct #cloudproduction #remoteproduction #s3 #ibc2024

ISE 2025 will be the perfect place to assess the evolution of convergence between broadcast and Pro-AV technology, a trend that has become increasingly important in recent years. A portion of Hall 4 at the show is dedicated to broadcast technology. This has been rebranded to “AV Broadcast” from “Content Production & Distribution” this year, which may signal an effort to blend broadcast technology within the AV landscape further (more on this below). Tracking this part of the exhibition over time is a good indicator of convergence progress, and particularly of which broadcast technology is finding its place in AV (and how). Some observations on the floor map changes I have noticed between 2024 and 2025 (not a perfect analysis, but still providing some valuable insights): 📍Some broadcast tech suppliers (e.g., Ross Video) have transitioned to Hall 4 this year. This could reflect a move to further centralize solutions coming from broadcast. It certainly helps navigation for buyers (and for analysts)! 🔍 Some suppliers like Blackmagic Design seem to have expanded their floor space this year. Though most seem to have kept a similar booth space as in 2024 even if the overall show is growing (see this for more info: https://lnkd.in/dvhcpf84). 🔍 There are some new suppliers exhibiting this year (e.g., Grass Valley). And there are also a few vendors that have vanished from the map in 2025. 🎥 Sectors that are particularly represented in the hall still include content acquisition and production, content infrastructure, audio and streaming. There are, of course, exceptions to this but you would classify most vendors in at least one of these segments (and not many changes here). My main takeaway from these observations is that convergence is still a trend in flux, with companies still experimenting with strategies to engage the AV market effectively. Have you spotted any more changes between 2024 and 2025? Stay tuned, I’ll be sharing more insights leading up to the show. 🚀 I look forward to attending the show with the Dovetail Creative Ltd team. PM me if you'd like to meet there :) #ISE2025 #BroadcastTechnology #ProAV #Convergence #Trends #Analysis

As IBC - International Broadcasting Convention draws to a close I have been reflecting on what has been a busy, informative and innovative event, shared with HTEC colleagues and our Media & Entertainment experts. Here's a brief overview of my takeaways: 1. The media landscape is undergoing rapid changes and is witnessing a seismic shift with linear TV in decline and streaming reaching record highs. This brings masses of opportunity for tech and digital solutions. 2. Technology and digital solutions must deliver practical, cost-saving applications that make an impact quickly and prove their ROI from launch. 3. Personalization remains crucial, with opportunities to better match content with a viewers' mood for improved experiences. 4. Localization is a key focus. All in all a productive 4 days in Amsterdam #networking #newopportunities #learning

Two days to go and I will be sitting alongside a panel of experts discussing opportunities and challenges in Digital services and infrastructure. Currently the technology and innovation of the Trust and Safety industry which the Film and Publication Board regulates sits in the Global North, thus making the South a user and consumer. We need to share these opportunities with the emerging tech companies both locally and continentally. Let's us not be a spectator in the economics of Digital transformation like we did with other digital revolution epochs. Let Africa' start-ups stand up and propel the continent on this economic digital revolution journey. For us as the regulator, African safety solutions will assist in dealing with online safety from an African perspective such as linguistic/cultural nuances which are the dominant medium through which prohibited content such as hate and incitement of violence are perpetrated.
