At Dixons, we know that developing inclusive cultures where diversity is celebrated and there is equality of opportunity for all members of our community, requires hard work. In this week's OpenSource episode, Faizal Musa, Chief People Officer continues our mini-series on ED&I and discusses how we have formulated our strategy and how being successful in creating an inclusive culture doesn't happen over night. We have elevated our focus on ED&I to our 2-5 year plan – making it bigger than a big move and a lens through which all our big moves are shaped, recognising that while we need to skew resource to it and build pace and momentum, it is a marathon, not a sprint, and the key is to stay on course with constant communication and delivery. As we continue to share some of the impact we have had over the last year, we are particularly proud of the strides we have made to foster #equality #diversity and #inclusion. We commissioned an Equity and Inclusion Review to explore how current systems, structures, policies and practices at IDS promote or inhibit a sense of equity, inclusion and belonging. This explored the breadth of protected characteristics, with a focus on race and whiteness, and power dynamics. We are also enhancing our academic knowledge access and dissemination by making publications available to all, where possible, including those who lack the financial means to access pay-per-view by continuing our transition to Open Access publications and compliance with Plan S. https://lnkd.in/eGikAxwu
