“Technology” may not be the first word that comes to mind when you slip on a pair of jeans, but that’s exactly what’s behind ISKO denim performance and sustainability. All fabrics in our new Fall/Winter 2025–2026 collection begin with textile-to-textile fibres from RE&UP Recycling Technologies. RE&UP’s high-tech process transforms end-of-life textiles into high-quality Next-Gen fibres that perform the same as virgin materials. ISKO’s unique spin-and-weave technology transform these high-quality fibres into high-performing fabrics with a diverse range of characteristics. One slice of that range is our “Inflexible” concept, which includes our traditional-looking denim categories: ISKO Rigid, Lightweight, and Craft. This season, our classic Rigid denim integrates distinctive yarn details for an extra element of craftsmanship. Lightweights are a lighter take on this classic approach and our Craft denims use traditional weaves to recreate authentic 80s and 90s looks. In fashion sector there was always a discussion in between : CHEAP / FAST / QUALITY... In the recent years, this discussion is transferred itself to : SUSTAINABLE / CHEAP / QUALITY Lets use word "price effordable" instead of word "cheap" ;-) to respect all motivations and works on sustainable/responsible fashion industry. We are always asking us : If a fashion product is 1) sustainable and price effordable, can it be also in good quality? 2) price effordable and in good quality , can it be also sustainable? 3) sustainable and in good quality, can it be also price effordable? Below article says very sad news about future of responsible fashion but in reality , demand for recycling or sustainability can only be improved if we all fashion/textile players can find realistic solutions to make a product sustainable, in good quality and price effordable. All these acclaimed initiatives need technical and financial support more than applause. #textile #fashion #fastfashion #responsiblefashion #sustainability #sustainablefashion #brand #retail #departmentstore #sourcing #textilesourcing #supplychain #tekstil #fabric #kumaş #moda #sürdürülebilirmoda #sürdürülebilirlik #marka #mağazacılık #katlımağazacılık #tedarikzinciri #tekstiltedarik

A recent article published on January 4 2024, by Première Vision discusses the revaluation of deadstock fabrics and materials in the fashion industry. The article highlights how these materials, often leftovers from past collections or production runs, can be integrated into the creative process, adding value to the energy already invested into production. Eco-friendly products need to work well, whether it's a laundry detergent that cleans properly or a plant-based hot dog that tastes good. Customers expect both functionality and environmental sustainability, not one at the expense of the other. San Francisco-based unicorn Rothy's crafts shoes from recycled plastic bottles, blending eco-friendliness with style, comfort and durability for everyday use. Rothy's recent innovation reimagines the espadrille - a beloved shoe with 600 years of history. The effort successfully builds on their vision and strategy. "...the global fashion industry, which squawks out the right noises when it comes to sustainability, but has nothing to show to the world in terms of constructive action." Wornwear founder Cyndi Rhoades said last year at the Textile Exchange that, after over a decade, we finally have enough funding to make textile recycling technically possible. Now what we need to do is to make brands 'reserve circular supply sources,' guaranteeing future orders to ensure funds flow into the establishment of textile recycling industries. At the end of February, Renewcell declared bankruptcy. Its facility in Sundsvall was the world's first commercial-scale Textile to Textile pulp mill, utilizing product traceability technology, planning supplier networks, and signing contracts with many well-known fiber producers. Even before the birth of this facility, its pilot program had been cooperating with Zara for several years. All objective conditions indicated that Renewcell was fully prepared. However, the promising prospects given by brands for 'recycled materials' were not realized in actual business transactions. Just as this article said: "Voluntary commitments from brands are not working: those sound great only on paper, in the vacuous impact and sustainability reports that brands churn out by the year." https://lnkd.in/gZeTE2c8
