How is PRIMUS Project EU successing in reaching high TRLs? PRIMUS is paving the way for groundbreaking advancements in mechanical plastic recycling and developing high performing and added value recyclate-based products through the collective expertise of our diverse consortium, by fostering open and transparent communication, and by creating an environmental where trust and innovation can thrive. 💎 This is well illustrated in the project news piece just produced - it highlights well for example the collaboration established with VTT & MAIER Group & MTC - Manufacturing Technology Centre 🔬🥼👨🔬👩🔬 💡Jani Pelto, D.Sc. (Tech.), Principal Scientist at VTT remarks that the “R&D collaboration with Maier has been very open and easy from the beginning as we clearly have common goal to demonstrate high performance of the plastics with high recycled content in a demanding interior part. It is highly beneficial that the development targets, the relevant design parameters, the pathway to the final industrial validation tests, and the industrial mindset for using recycled technical plastics has been jointly discussed and brought in early in the project.” 🏁Beñat Madariaga, R&D&I Project Leader at MTC (Maier Technology Centre), fully agrees with Jani. “Truly and open innovation collaboration with VTT validating the compounds received from VTT in order to assure that automotive interior parts could have a pretty high percentage of recycled material and fulfil the current automotive industrial performance. VTT collaborated strongly against all the requests needed after each upgrading trial”.
Excited to share the latest insights from PRIMUS on our journey towards sustainability! 🌍 Discover the best practices we've implemented to drive positive change and make a lasting impact. HiPP is committed to 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆! 🦋 HiPP's Pfaffenhofen site has been certified to the pan-European Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) since 1995. The family-owned company was the first food manufacturer and third company in Germany to adopt this strict environmental management system. With that step, HiPP has committed to continuously improving their environmental performance at the headquarters. Since the introduction of EMAS until now, significant results are evident. The company has already reduced water consumption by over 60%, energy consumption by over 50% and emissions by over 80%. HiPP places a strong emphasis on further development in this area. Consequently, the company has established a new benchmark in sustainable corporate governance, becoming the first organization in Austria, Hungary and Croatia to attain "𝗪𝗲 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁" 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. With this certification, HiPP is placing a greater focus on the social component of its internal business processes, once again demonstrating its 𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. We Impact replaces the EMASplus standard that HiPP has been applying since 2018. Like EMASplus, this integrated, holistic standard covers the topics of DIN ISO 14001. In 2024, all European locations are certified according to the requirements of 𝗪𝗲 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 for the first time. This shows how important the topic is to us and how committed we are to driving it forward across the entire company. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗲 𝗴𝗼 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿: By 2025, we want to minimise the emissions of our sites by a further 20% with a view to the environmental aspect. Factors we focus on: - optimisation of the energy supply - increase of the share of renewable energies - increase in efficiency Always with the goal of ‘𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀’. 💚 You may wonder why the picture of the butterfly? 🦋 This butterfly – Rhodochlora claushippi – was named after Prof. Dr. Claus Hipp and honours HiPP's outstanding commitment to the protection of biodiversity. Since then, it has been regarded as a symbol of sustainability for HiPP. Curious to learn more about sustainability at HiPP?
