Nowadays, healthcare quality and patient safety are the utmost priorities and critically important non-negotiable aspects. To achieve this, healthcare accreditation is the way to improve the quality and safety of healthcare services and strengthen the competence-based quality assurance system. Professionals working in this area are engaged, and hospital accreditation standard developments have begun in early 2024. Currently, the draft standard is open for public comment prior to implementing and launching the healthcare accreditation program in Ethiopia.
