🍼 Express Safely: Always wash your hands before expressing breast milk to ensure cleanliness and hygiene. 🧊 Proper Storage: Store breast milk in clean, BPA-free containers, labeling each with the date of expression. ❄️ Cooling Tips: Refrigerate breast milk within 4 hours if not used immediately. Freeze it if you plan to store it for longer. 🔥 Thaw Gently: Thaw frozen milk by placing it in the refrigerator overnight or in warm water. Avoid microwaving to preserve nutrients. ⏳ Know the Shelf Life: Freshly expressed milk can be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days and in the freezer for up to 6 months. Use the oldest milk first. #BreastMilkStorage #NewMomTips #SaxenaHospital #BabyCare

Keep a water bottle handy! - Hydrating Foods: Include water-rich fruits and veggies like watermelon, cucumber, and oranges in meals. - Avoid Dehydrating Drinks: Limit caffeine and alcohol as they can dehydrate the body. - Set Reminders: Use alarms or apps to remind yourself to drink water throughout the day. - Monitor Hydration: Look out for signs of dehydration like dry mouth, dizziness, or dark urine. https://lnkd.in/gpzKgERD #SeniorCareAuthorityofWilmington #WilmingtonNC #WilmingtonSeniorCare #SeniorCareAdvocate #SeniorCare #ElderCare #SeniorAdvocate #AssistedLiving #SeniorLiving #Seniors #MemoryCare #Hospice #HospiceCare Senior Care Authority of Eastern North Carolina

Storing breast milk properly is crucial to maintain its nutritional value and ensure your baby’s safety. Here are 3 tips to keep your breast milk as fresh as possible: Use clean containers: Use BPA-free bottles or storage bags specifically designed for storing breast milk. Make sure they are clean and sterilized before use. Label containers: Label each container with the date when the milk was expressed. Use the oldest milk first to ensure freshness. Freezing: If you won't be using the milk within a few days, freeze it. Store it in the back of the freezer where the temperature is most consistent.
