A Guide to Degree Apprenticeships 📒 I've had an incredible number of new connections following my previous post, so I'll start with a quick introduction. Hi 👋 I'm Rhian and I am currently in my fourth and final year of studying for a manufacturing engineering degree apprenticeship with JLR. Fresh out of sixth form, I moved a 3 hour drive from my family home to embark upon this wonderful course. I've had the privilege to work in almost 10 different departments throughout the business, getting involved in activities from computer-aided design to engine teardown. When I was in sixth form, degree apprenticeships were still rather elusive. I was quite lucky in that my school were incredibly supportive, but it did seem that information still wasn't readily available. I majorly trusted in blind googling and government websites for all of my information. At the end of last year, I was asked to feature in this wonderful booklet and I happily obliged. Reading through it now, I can see a considerable number of my previous questions answered. Considering I have had a flurry of new messages from prospective apprentices and sixth formers, I felt this would be a very valuable resource to share. Although my choice was engineering, there are numerous pathways and sectors discussed and options to this day I still didn't know about! If you are interested in degree apprenticeships or simply want to find out more, I would strongly encourage a quick read. #degreeapprenticeship #sixthform #apprenticeship

The apprenticeship hub is another reason why Essex is Extraordinary! It supports school leaders in Essex to find and secure apprenticeship opportunities. The apprenticeship hub offers sessions on completing apprenticeship job applications and learning interview techniques. Apprenticeships are a great way for businesses to boost their performance and efficiency by developing their employees’ skills and knowledge. The Essex Apprenticeship Levy Transfer Service helps large businesses to transfer up to 50% of their unspent apprenticeship levy to support other businesses, to cover their apprenticeship training costs. Watch our apprenticeship video below, where we speak to a Colchester United Football Club apprentice and Hannah, one of our Employment and Skills Advisors. Great article! Apprenticeship programs are very important, but the process of setting them up is complex. Demand for apprenticeships exceeds supply of employers offering them https://lnkd.in/gVs7AtwZ
