Castle, is continuing its long term support of the PlanBEE higher apprenticeship programme. The company has welcomed two students, who are currently undertaking a four-month placement. PlanBEE, is a higher apprenticeship programme that allows apprentices to experience a diverse mix of roles within the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) sectors. The programme runs over a two-year period, when apprentices undertake six work placements of four months each, with different sponsor organisations. Bespoke on and off-the-job training combines with learning at Gateshead College, one day each week. Castle has offered full time employment to a number of PlanBEE students. An example being its building services engineer, Megan Groom, who is now one of a number of mentors to new PlanBEE apprentices. In this vlog, Megan discusses the apprenticeship programme and her role as a mentor. We also hear from Taylor Dolan, who is currently on placement at the company. For too long, we have designed systems that have forced us to choose between advancing our education and helping our loved ones. The launch of Degree-level apprenticeships is a game-changer. As Katherine Hall, Executive Director of ConCOVE Tūhura, puts it: "By integrating academic study with practical work experience, we are equipping future professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in industry—faster." We are finally attuning our systems to our sector's and communities' urgent needs. Transformative projects like Degree-level apprenticeships, along with the many initiatives ConCOVE is enabling within the construction and infrastructure sector and VET, are why we were set up. #DegreeLevelApprenticeships #EarnAsYouLearn #EmpoweringCommunities #ConCOVETūhura #IndustryReady #SystemsChange

#mygreatfirstjob #webinars #construction #apprenticeships a great webinar with two people who are a genuine credit to their company Morgan Sindall Construction. some of the best feedback My Great First Job get is from industry specific webinars. This was another brilliant example.
Helping 6th Form Leaders prepare students for success, with workshops on LinkedIn, Personal Branding, Degree Apprenticeships. Assemblies ➡️ class sessions ➡️ 1-2-1.
A webinar about Construction Apprenticeships that brought a tear to my eye 🥲 Are you sure!! 👇 Get the link to the recording and listen to Christabel A. to find out why. To be honest, I knew our guest apprentice would be knowledgable, relatable and inspiring......I just wasn't expecting 'moving' and 'emotional'......but she certainly was all of those things.....and then some. Christabel shared her very real pride in being involved on a project at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust that she described as 'an amazing building' and one that will change people's lives, as they will no longer need to travel across the country to get treatment. Her pride at making a difference to people's lives with a construction project that she was working on was tangible. Christabel shared her journey to becoming an Apprentice Site Manager with Morgan Sindall Construction, the challenges that the job role brings and the skills she has developed. Norma Odain-Hines MInstLM social values manager at Morgan Sindall Construction, also joined the webinar to share information on the various Apprenticeships and opportunities available at the company, and also in the wider group. Towards the beginning of the webinar we looked at routes into 'Trade Apprenticeships' and checked out some useful websites. Click the link to check out the recording and the resources we shared. Huge thanks to Norma and Christabel......and also to South East Midlands Careers Hub for supporting the webinar. #constructionapprenticeships #construction #apprenticeships #youngpeople
