GITEX 2024: Avaya CEO Patrick Dennis spearheaded a roundtable discussion on the primary factors that are influencing AI investment strategies across the UAE, and the rest of the GCC, during GITEX 2024. Dennis was joined by Omar Javaid, Chief Product Officer at Avaya, along with a number of IT end users responsible for implementing AI at their respective organizations. Representatives from Dubai Police, Meerana and Supermicro, among others, contributed to discussions on where AI investment is heading, and how this investment could fuel the creation of the next ‘big tech unicorn’. “This region wants to create 100 unicorns over the next few years, and 33 of those are going to be in Dubai alone, so there’s $30bn in market cap value right off the bat, and every one of these unicorns are 100% going to be using AI,” said Dennis. Following up is where those connections become real collaborations. ♦ 𝐅𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 – With AI evolving rapidly, 100% conversion isn’t realistic, but 110% learning is.
