A year ago today a small group of us gathered around the table and dared to imagine how we could change the behavorial health landscape and improve health outcomes for the region and the individuals and families we serve. Utilizing system integration strategies, we focused on local government, public safety, and public and private health systems to do just that.
Within 365 days we agreed on tactics, wrote and submitted a proposal, secured funding, re-crafted our proposal when we received partial funding, secured additional funding, and began implementation of an extremely complex multi-system, inter-agency initiative. And if that wasn’t enough to do, the same small group of people set out to become a designated Recovery Ready Community while continuing to do our “day jobs”.
There are no words to fully describe how dedicated and respurceful this group is. I am forever grateful for their partnership, passion, expertise, and the support of our fiscal courts. It’s not been easy by any means, but it’s been meaningful and momentous.
It’s been a long year filled with long days, long nights, and many meetings. So. Many. Meetings. But we are nearing the finish line and we will all exhale soon!
