Registered Nurse / Retired Audit Manager / Volunteer Workplace Mental Health / Board of Canadian Jurors Commission
I have been reviewing these messages/updates daily for a few years now on FeelingBetterNow. Not sure who creates them, but they are excellent! Catchy, quick useful tips and wellness reminders. Could FBN messages, like this one on FBN, be downloaded on your intranet daily and provide a workplace wellness tip for you and / or your employees? WHY?? BECAUSE … Unionized management annual performance evaluations, required to determine your annual incentive (i.e, 1-3%) include a personal planner. These messages would fulfill the DAE, leadership/mentoring, wellness activity, etc. on that planner. I wonder if FBN has the capability to provide these tips/videos if you utilize their app ?
And get to know your coworkers while you're at it!

CEO @22R Design Build |Ex Luxottica/Limited Brands International/Agency Creative Ops Leader| Love working with innovative teams that can think big while keeping the ego small.
“When you go to work each day, how do you know what to work on?” What an insightful question! Thanks for sharing Rachel! Please comment what your strategy is, very curious. My strategy: The What: LNO (leverage 10x/neutral/overhead) *using the method Jordan White mentioned. The How: The Deep Work method- 90 min blocks- set up the night before. I admit that this doesn’t always work perfectly but it does create the structure to prioritize. Eat the frog first, meaning do the most challenging (not creative) work first. And then Neutral items. Once those are out of the way, I personally break (do a quick meditation or a mini hike/walk) to shift my mindset and work on creating slick pitch decks/design direction/content. Knowing this is a 10x return, I like to give these my blocked time where no one can get to me and I can get into flow.
At the airport on the way to our spring break trip, my 12-year-old daughter, Wren, asked me a question that I cannot stop thinking about: “When you have a job how do you know what work to do that day? I mean, when you sit down at your desk — how do you know what do you do with that time?” I’d love to share a bunch of different answers with her, so if you have one, share away!
