In the third sector, the word ‘commercial’ can bring mixed reactions 🤔 To some, it makes them think of private sector mentalities that prioritises profit, which sometimes comes before people. To others, it means continuous improvement and remaining constantly curious about whether more can be done to drive meaningful outcomes. Charities can be 👉🏻Commercial in the way they drive impact. 👉🏻Commercial in the way they hold themselves accountable to helping those in need. 👉🏻Commercial in the way they benchmark themselves and strive to be better. It has to come from the top down with aspirational leadership setting the scene. The best charities I’ve worked with do this really well.

Building strong foundations. Being registered with the "funding regulators" is a step in the right direction as we aim to align with national pathways in society, so we can better meet their needs and serve the communities we work with. That said, we have a comprehensive set of policies in place, which allows others to collaborate with us more easily. This is very important, especially since we have limited resources. Having partnerships, collaborations, and grant funding enables all organizations to leverage these arrangements.
